OpenAI is updating its ChatGPT subscription lineup with a new $100 per month Pro tier designed to support heavier Codex use, as demand for AI coding sessions continues to grow.
The company said the new plan offers 5x more Codex usage than ChatGPT Plus and is intended for longer, high-effort sessions.
In ChatGPT, the new tier keeps all existing Pro features, including access to the exclusive Pro model and unlimited use of Instant and Thinking models. OpenAI’s release notes also describe the $100 plan as including unlimited access to GPT 5.4 and access to GPT 5.4 Pro.
To mark the launch, OpenAI said $100 Pro subscribers will receive a temporary Codex boost through May 31, raising usage to as much as 10x that of Plus. OpenAI also said the Codex promotion for existing Plus users ended yesterday, with Plus usage now rebalanced to support more sessions across the week rather than longer sessions in a single day.
The $20 Plus plan remains OpenAI’s main option for regular day to day Codex use, while the new $100 tier creates a lower priced step up for heavier users. OpenAI’s pricing page also shows that the company’s higher usage $200 Pro option remains available and keeps its current Codex promotion through May 31.
