Trump's Acting Attorney General visibly uncomfortable when pressed on the Epstein files

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche became defensive when questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein case during an interview at the Semafor World Economy summit.

Reporter Shelby Talcott asked whether the Department of Justice would support Epstein survivors testifying before Congress, following First Lady Melania Trump's denial of ties to the convicted sex offender. Blanche stated the DOJ has consistently welcomed victims coming forward, whether to testify in Congress or to the FBI, and cited the arrest of 1,700 defendants for abusing women last year.

When pressed about mixed messaging on the investigation, Blanche denied ever suggesting the department should move past the Epstein files.

However, earlier this month Blanche told Fox News, "I think that to the extent that the Epstein files was a part of the past year of this Justice Department, it should not be a part of anything going forward."
