Broadcom (AVGO) and Google Cloud (GOOGL) deepened their existing partnership on April 22, with Broadcom’s AppNeta technology now powering Google Cloud’s new Cloud Network Insights service.
Cloud Network Insights is a first-party product built by Google Cloud exclusively for its users. It draws on AppNeta’s network monitoring capabilities to give organizations better visibility into how their applications are performing across distributed environments.
The service targets a real problem for IT teams. As workloads spread across multiple clouds, on-premises infrastructure, and SaaS platforms, traditional monitoring tools struggle to see beyond the edges of customer-managed networks.

Cloud Network Insights tackles that gap by offering three core functions. First, network experience monitoring with end-to-end path visibility. Second, application and agent experience monitoring across both on-premises and cloud environments. Third, network diagnostics designed to cut down the time it takes to identify whether a problem is a network issue or an application issue.
AppNeta is Broadcom’s end-user experience monitoring tool, built specifically for cloud and SaaS applications. It gives IT teams a clear view of both network and application performance in environments that are notoriously difficult to monitor.
Broadcom itself uses AppNeta internally to track traffic across its own on-premises and cloud-based applications. That real-world use case has shaped how the technology is applied in the Cloud Network Insights product.
Rob Enns, VP and General Manager of Cloud Networking at Google Cloud, said the integration of AppNeta’s observability tools gives customers what they need to “proactively optimize agent, application, and network experiences and rapidly pinpoint network bottlenecks.”
Serge Lucio, VP and General Manager of Broadcom’s Agile Operations Division, said the collaboration helps Google Cloud users monitor distributed applications and networks more effectively.
Modern enterprise workloads are messy. They span public clouds, private data centers, and a growing list of SaaS services. Monitoring all of that in one place has been a persistent challenge for IT teams.
Cloud Network Insights aims to simplify that by pulling together a complete picture of network performance for distributed cloud applications. The product gives visibility into every layer of the stack, not just the parts Google Cloud directly controls.
Alan Davidson, Broadcom’s CIO, noted that the company relies on AppNeta to help internal IT teams distinguish between network and application issues — a task that gets harder as infrastructure grows more complex.
Broadcom’s AVGO stock was up 0.91% on the day of the announcement. Google’s GOOGL was up 1.38%.
Cloud Network Insights powered by AppNeta by Broadcom is now available through Google Cloud.
