Visa Intelligent Commerce Connect and ETH Integration

Visa announced a new platform called Intelligent Commerce Connect for agentic AI-based payments. This platform provides a universal entry point independent of token vaults for AI agent developers and merchants, enabling AI agents to scan, select, and pay on behalf of consumers. It includes secure payment initiation, tokenization, spending controls, and verification features through a single integration via the Visa Acceptance Platform. While crypto networks like Ethereum, Tron, and Solana and fintech companies develop similar payment solutions, the platform is currently in pilot phase with selected partners and planned to expand in 2026. Like Visa’s previous Visa CLI product, this also targets AI agent payments. In a related development, Nevermined integrated Coinbase’s x402 protocol with Visa Intelligent Commerce, enabling AI agents to autonomously purchase digital goods and services; x402 reached $24 million in trading volume in the last 30 days.

On April 22, 2026, Ethereum ETFs saw $96.4 million in net inflows. Bitcoin ETFs led with $335.8 million. These flows could increase interest in the ETH ecosystem with Visa’s AI payment innovations. The ETH futures market has also gained momentum.
