Blackpink star Jennie nearly scores the second No. 1 for K-pop artists on two of Billboard’s rock and alternative charts, but misses by just one space. Blackpink singer Jennie likely had an inkling that when she hopped aboard a remix of Tame Impala’s single “Dracula,” she was joining a composition that was headed for great things. Whether she realized the history that she was going to make with the tune is unknown, as even Kevin Parker – otherwise known as Tame Impala – might not have realized just how big the track would become.

At the moment, “Dracula,” which now credits both Tame Impala and Jennie after weeks of only naming the first artist, appears on nearly 20 different Billboard tallies. The song rises to a new peak on many of those rankings, and it nearly earns Jennie her first No. 1 on three rundowns, but misses out on doing so by just one space.

Jennie and Tame Impala’s “Dracula” Flies to No. 2

“Dracula” flies to No. 2, up one space from No. 3, on a trio of Billboard charts. The collaboration reaches its new peak position of second place on the Billboard Global 200, Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, and Hot Alternative Songs tallies simultaneously.

BTS Remains the Only K-Pop Name to Rule the Rock Charts

Several well-known K-pop artists, including a handful of soloists, have topped the Billboard Global 200, the chart company’s ranking of the most popular songs all around the world, but only one act closely associated with that genre has led the charge on Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Alternative Songs registers. BTS broke barriers nearly half a decade ago when the septet joined Coldplay on “My Universe.” While the cut is essentially a pop song, Coldplay’s history in rock and alternative music helped the tune become a No. 1 smash on those two genre-specific rosters and made BTS the only name in K-pop to rule.

Jennie Previously Peaked at No. 3 with “Mantra”

As “Dracula” ascends a single slot on the Billboard Global 200, Jennie reaches a new career high as a soloist. Previously, she topped out at No. 3 with her own “Mantra,” which opened in that position in October 2024.

Jennie and Tame Impala’s “Dracula” Blocked from No. 1

Jennie is blocked from the summit on the three rankings where “Dracula” improves to No. 2 by different singles. On the Billboard Global 200, “Swim” by BTS is steady in first place, with one beloved K-pop musical act keeping another from the top spot. On both the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Alternative Songs tallies, “Back to Friends” by Sombr, which has now spent more than a year on the style-focused lists, is comfortable once again at No. 1.

Jennie and Tame Impala Holds in Second Place

As “Dracula” hits No. 2 for the first time on three Billboard charts, the single either holds in that spot or returns to that position on another five tallies. “Dracula” finds its way back to No. 2 on the Hot Rock Songs and Alternative Streaming Songs rundowns. The collaboration is a non-mover in second place on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. – which works in nearly the same manner as the Billboard Global 200, except sales and streams from American consumers are completely excluded – as well as the Rock Streaming Songs and Dance Streaming Songs charts.

Jennie and Tame Impala’s “Dracula” Rules Three Rankings

“Dracula” remains the No. 1 hit on another three tallies published by Billboard, where it’s comfortable yet again in first place. Jennie and Tame Impala lead the Rock Digital Song Sales, Alternative Digital Song Sales, and Hot Dance/Electronic Songs rankings. Lady Gaga and Doechii’s “Runway” replaces “Dracula” atop the Dance Digital Song Sales chart.

“Dracula” Reaches New Highs on Several Billboard Charts

Amidst all of the aforementioned excitement, “Dracula” also manages to establish new, lofty placements on several other rundowns. The duet pushes to never-before-seen highs on the Digital Song Sales (No. 7), Streaming Songs (No. 8), Billboard Hot 100 (No. 15), Pop Airplay (No. 23), and Radio Songs charts (No. 44) all at the same time.
