President Donald Trump signaled his impatience with ABC over his long-simmering feud with late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.
The 79-year-old president demanded the network remove Kimmel from the airwaves over a joke he made last week in which he described first lady Melania Trump as having "the glow of an expectant widow," and his Federal Communications Commission chairman Brendan Carr has directed Walt Disney Co. to file early license renewal applications for its local affiliate stations.

"When is ABC Fake News Network firing seriously unfunny Jimmy Kimmel, who incompetently presides over one of the Lowest Rated shows on Television?" Trump posted Thursday morning on Truth Social. "People are angry. It better be soon!!! President DJT."
Both the president and his wife have publicly called on ABC to fire Kimmel over his April 23 joke, which they have blamed for an alleged assassination attempt two days later at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
ABC briefly suspended Kimmel in September following backlash over his comments about the suspect accused of assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk in Utah.
