A new contemporary art destination in New York City’s Lower East Side is drawing attention for combining traditional gallery experiences with blockchain-based ownership technology. Located at 91 Allen Street, Cycol Gallery launched in late 2025 as what is described as the first physical gallery built around the Solana ecosystem and supported by both Solana and BONK communities.

The gallery was established to merge physical exhibitions with digital verification systems, allowing collectors to purchase tangible artwork while also receiving blockchain-backed certificates confirming authenticity and ownership history. This hybrid model aims to expand accessibility for collectors while opening additional revenue opportunities for artists operating across both traditional and digital mediums.

Positioned at the intersection of art, technology, and community culture, Cycol Gallery focuses on photography, digital art, and emerging creative technologies. The project was founded by artist J.T. Liss, who reportedly envisioned the space as a platform where conventional artists and digital-native creators could collaborate, share ideas, and participate in evolving forms of artistic engagement.

Solana and BONK Ecosystems Support Artist Expansion

Cycol Gallery’s leadership explained that blockchain technology is intended to complement physical art rather than replace it. According to the gallery’s vision, Solana’s low-cost transaction infrastructure allows artists to mint digital authenticity records efficiently while maintaining transparency and permanent ownership tracking.

The gallery combines traditional exhibitions with blockchain-powered ownership verification, enabling collectors to purchase physical works alongside secure on-chain certificates of authenticity. Through integration with the Exchange Art platform, creators are also able to upload images of physical artwork and connect directly with global collectors while preserving the importance of in-person exhibitions.

Liss, who also serves as President of Exchange Art and Director of BONK Art Masters, reportedly built his career through independent street photography exhibitions before transitioning into digital art in 2021. After adopting Solana-based tools, his digital collection Face Value reportedly sold out entirely on-chain.

During the broader crypto market downturn in 2022, Liss continued organizing community-focused events for Solana and BONK creators. Reports indicated that BONK Art Masters later introduced micro-grant initiatives supporting nearly 70 exhibitions worldwide, with a focus on directly empowering independent artists.

Gallery’s Opening Exhibitions Gain Momentum

Cycol’s inaugural photography exhibition, organized by Steve Sweatpants of Street Dreams Magazine, reportedly attracted more than 400 visitors and generated strong sales activity. The gallery has since continued promoting both established and emerging artists through physical installations and blockchain-linked sales.

Pedro Miranda, Head of Consumer at the Solana Foundation, reportedly stated that artists within the Solana ecosystem have played a major role in shaping the network’s creative identity. He also suggested that the emergence of a blockchain-connected physical gallery in New York reflected the growing ability of decentralized technologies to create real-world cultural experiences.

Cycol Gallery’s model seeks to create a sustainable future for artists by combining Solana’s fast blockchain infrastructure with BONK’s community-driven ecosystem. The gallery’s leadership believes this structure can increase professional visibility and broaden monetization opportunities for creators.

Frank Ape Exhibition Highlights Community Themes

The gallery’s upcoming exhibition schedule further reflects its focus on immersive and socially connected experiences. From May 1 through May 31, 2026, New York artist Brandon Sines, also known as Frank Ape, is scheduled to present Let’s Be Frank, a large-scale solo exhibition spanning both floors of the gallery.

The exhibition explores themes of identity, connection, and the concept of home as a shared community experience rather than simply a physical location. One featured installation, Home Is All of Us, includes an eight-foot sculpture centered on collective belonging and social closeness.

Additional works include the Frank Friends painting series, which portrays everyday New York personalities, alongside the immersive Growth installation that combines murals, sculpture, painting, and video elements into a symbolic urban garden.

The upcoming Let’s Be Frank exhibition will allow visitors to purchase artwork both physically at the gallery and digitally through blockchain-based minting on Exchange Art. The exhibition opened with a press preview on April 30, followed by a public reception on May 1, with free admission available to attendees.
