WHY THIS MATTERS: This executive appointment at AutoRek underscores a major trend in financial services: the elevation of financial controls from a back-office necessity to a strategic, technology-driven competitive advantage. Tony Livesey’s history of both implementing the AutoRek platform as a client at Royal London and scaling SaaS infrastructure at PremFina suggests a dual focus on deep client needs and technical productization. The industry significance lies in the clear directive to embed advanced automation and AI directly into core regulatory compliance processes. As financial institutions navigate increasing data volumes and stricter reporting requirements globally, the ability to ensure accuracy, transparency, and scalability in reconciliation is paramount. This move signals that AutoRek is preparing its platform to leverage AI to not just manage controls, but to proactively improve efficiency and decision-making for its increasingly global customer base.

AutoRek, a global provider of automated reconciliation and financial controls solutions, today announced the appointment of Tony Livesey as Chief Technology & Product Officer. The appointment reflects AutoRek’s continued investment in its leadership team as the company accelerates its global growth ambitions.

Tony joins from PremFina, where as CTO, he led the evolution of the company’s technology and product platform, delivering significant improvements in scalability, automation, and operational efficiency. Prior to this, he served as Group CTO at Royal London, where he played a key role in implementing AutoRek into the business. He has also held senior technology and transformation roles at KPMG, Aegon, and EDS (HPES). He brings deep financial services and SaaS experience, with a strong track record of aligning technology and product strategy to commercial outcomes.

Reporting directly to CEO Chris Livesey, Tony will be responsible for leading AutoRek’s technology and product strategy, with a focus on ensuring the platform scales to meet the demands of an increasingly global customer base. His priorities will include strengthening delivery, increasing productization, and applying AI and automation to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer outcomes.

“AutoRek is at an exciting point in its growth,” said Tony Livesey, Chief Technology & Product Officer, AutoRek. “The platform has strong technical foundations and a clear opportunity to evolve and expand as the business grows. I’m looking forward to working with the team to build on that momentum, strengthening delivery, increasing productization, and ensuring the technology and product roadmap are tightly aligned to customer outcomes and commercial growth.”

“Tony joins at a moment when the intersection of technology, product, and AI is defining competitive advantage in financial services,” said Chris Livesey, CEO, AutoRek. “His track record of scaling platforms and driving commercial outcomes through technology makes him the ideal person to lead that agenda for AutoRek. I’m thrilled to have him on board.”

The announcement also sees Jim Sadler, who has led significant transformation at AutoRek over the past three years, move into the newly created role of Chief Transformation Officer.

FF NEWS TAKE: This appointment, particularly the CTPO’s background as a former client, moves the needle by promising a product roadmap highly aligned with real-world financial institution pain points. AutoRek’s clear focus on ‘productization’ and the application of AI to reconciliation shows they are prioritizing global scalability and feature richness. The industry should watch for a significant acceleration in the integration of predictive analytics and machine learning into financial reporting and control systems over the next 18 months.
