Before we start on today’s Sunday Strands puzzle, I’d like to direct your attention to my weekend streaming guide. I don’t just write puzzle guides, I’m also a TV and movie aficionado / expert / nerd and I have pretty much the best taste in these things. If I recommend something, you can pretty much guarantee that it’s great (and if you don’t like it, it’s probably your fault, not mine). How To Play Strands

Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day’s theme.

Today’s Strands Breakdown

This NYT Strands wasn’t OBVIOUS at first, even if its words and spangram were pretty CLEAR CUT in the end. Honestly, it’s kind of a BRAZEN puzzle, with such a FLAGRANT theme. These are all fun, loud, expressive words and even though today’s Strands was pretty easy compared to some, I always enjoy a good thing. And there were no GLARING omissions today!
