NC mom furious after GOP lawmaker replies to 10-year-old with attack on his teacher

January 6 attacker Stephen Horn praised an octogenarian lawmaker’s "brutal" takedown of a 10-year-old arguing in favor of EV subsidies.

“A letter attributed to Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) brutally explains the reality of government spending to a 10-year-old who sent in a letter supporting a $5,000 tax rebate for electric vehicles,” Horn posted on X.

Canterbury School student Christian Mango was told to choose a topic to send to political representatives, and he says he chose the issue of electric vehicle credits himself, seeing the value in lower emissions.

“We should have a $5,000 tax rebate. For electric cars, because they’re better than normal cars. They’re better for the environment. They pay less. And there’s no gas,” Christian wrote.

But the reaction of 82-year-old U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx was one laden with political talking points and MAGA-speak that Mango did not easily grasp.

“Your request ... means that the federal government must take that money out of the pockets of hardworking people who may not have the means to buy an electric vehicle in the first place,” Foxx said, citing six sources from the Wall Street Journal and various right-wing propaganda sites.

Foxx also included certain assertions about the national debt and “how little time” the US has left “before interest payments on the national debt surpass our total discretionary spending.”

Brookings Institution William Galston told the Wall Street Journal, however, that President Donald Trump has led America into so much debt that it now exceeds the entirety of the nation’s gross domestic product: “Unless we change course, the debt will only get worse — fast,” Galston said.

Foxx dedicated the end of her response to attacking Mango’s teacher, according to Fox News 8, of Greensboro.

“Ask your teacher to explain propaganda to you. I will never be able to know. My guess is that your teacher will not be able to give you a good educational experience by helping you. Because they are too interested in indoctrinating you. How sad,” Foxx wrote, despite Mango himself picking the topic.

“I think that was wrong … because the school didn’t do anything,” Mango told Fox News 8.

His Mom, Emily Mango, blasted Foxx’s response on social media and is now demanding an apology to her son, according to Fox News 8.
