A new Change Research survey shows Democrat Alex Vindman leading Republican Ashley Moody by two points in the Florida Senate race, a result the Vindman campaign on Monday hailed as a sign that the long-dismissed red state may finally be in play.
The poll has Vindman at 47% to Moody's 45%, according to numbers circulated by the campaign.

"This changes everything," Team Vindman wrote in an email blast to supporters Monday. "Change Research just released a new poll that has Alex two points ahead of Republican Ashley Moody."
The campaign argued that the result upends years of conventional wisdom about Florida's political identity. "For too long, election 'experts' have written off Florida as a ruby red state," the email read. "Not anymore. This poll shows that if we put in the hard work right now, we could truly flip Florida's Senate seat this November."
Vindman, the retired Army lieutenant colonel who became a household name after testifying during President Donald Trump's first impeachment, has been a top target for MAGA-aligned groups since launching his campaign. His team noted he refuses corporate PAC money and faces a well-funded opposition determined to keep the seat in Republican hands.
"Alex is MAGA's #1 target, and they will spend whatever it takes to stop this seat from flipping blue," the campaign wrote on Monday.
Election Day is in November.
