TLDR

  • Coinbase integrates 1inch API to unlock seamless DeFi swaps in-app.
  • Coinbase expands DeFi access with non-custodial swaps via 1inch API.
  • 1inch powers Coinbase’s DEX feature for deeper liquidity and lower slippage.
  • Coinbase pushes DeFi adoption by adding 1inch-powered decentralized swaps.
  • With 1inch integration, Coinbase evolves toward a DeFi super app vision.

Coinbase has integrated the 1inch Swap API into its mobile app to enhance non-custodial token swaps for its users. This move represents the decentralized exchange aggregator’s most prominent U.S. collaboration and aligns with Coinbase’s strategic expansion into DeFi. The integration enhances user access to aggregated liquidity while reinforcing Coinbase’s goal to evolve into a comprehensive crypto platform.

Coinbase Adds New DEX Functionality to Expand DeFi Access

Coinbase has incorporated a decentralized exchange feature that allows users to interact with onchain assets via a built-in self-custodial wallet. Through the 1inch Swap API, the platform now enables direct non-custodial token swaps without exiting the Coinbase app. This update enhances trading flexibility while reducing barriers for users entering the decentralized finance ecosystem.

The company rolled out the DEX capability earlier in the year in response to declining spot trading volumes. In Q2 2025, Coinbase experienced a 26% decline in revenue, prompting the expansion into new onchain services. This feature aims to re-engage users by offering access to digital assets not listed on centralized exchanges.

Coinbase’s strategy is to position its app as a one-stop platform for all digital financial transactions. By adding seamless decentralized trading, it provides millions of users a broader range of crypto activities. The integration also highlights Coinbase’s ongoing efforts to diversify services amid tightening competition and evolving market demands.

1inch Secures Largest U.S. Client with API Integration

1inch has confirmed Coinbase as its most significant U.S. client to date, advancing its goal of delivering institutional-grade DeFi infrastructure. The aggregator sources quotes from multiple decentralized exchanges and automatically selects the best execution rate for users. This enables deeper liquidity access and enhances execution efficiency, particularly for larger trades.

The 1inch team launched its native swaps between Solana and EVM networks in August, connecting fragmented liquidity pools. This technical advancement strengthens its ability to serve partners like Coinbase by improving cross-chain access. As part of its SaaS-driven growth, 1inch aims to become a core infrastructure provider to both crypto-native and traditional finance firms.

The API delivers optimized pricing by routing transactions through multiple sources, thereby minimizing slippage and improving execution efficiency. It eliminates the limitations of relying on a single exchange’s depth, allowing Coinbase users to achieve better rates. With this collaboration, 1inch extends its software offering and reinforces its role in expanding DeFi’s institutional reach.

Fed Decides On Interest Rates Today—Here’s What To Watch For

The post Fed Decides On Interest Rates Today—Here’s What To Watch For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Topline The Federal Reserve on Wednesday will conclude a two-day policymaking meeting and release a decision on whether to lower interest rates—following months of pressure and criticism from President Donald Trump—and potentially signal whether additional cuts are on the way. President Donald Trump has urged the central bank to “CUT INTEREST RATES, NOW, AND BIGGER” than they might plan to. Getty Images Key Facts The central bank is poised to cut interest rates by at least a quarter-point, down from the 4.25% to 4.5% range where they have been held since December to between 4% and 4.25%, as Wall Street has placed 100% odds of a rate cut, according to CME’s FedWatch, with higher odds (94%) on a quarter-point cut than a half-point (6%) reduction. Fed governors Christopher Waller and Michelle Bowman, both Trump appointees, voted in July for a quarter-point reduction to rates, and they may dissent again in favor of a large cut alongside Stephen Miran, Trump’s Council of Economic Advisers’ chair, who was sworn in at the meeting’s start on Tuesday. It’s unclear whether other policymakers, including Kansas City Fed President Jeffrey Schmid and St. Louis Fed President Alberto Musalem, will favor larger cuts or opt for no reduction. Fed Chair Jerome Powell said in his Jackson Hole, Wyoming, address last month the central bank would likely consider a looser monetary policy, noting the “shifting balance of risks” on the U.S. economy “may warrant adjusting our policy stance.” David Mericle, an economist for Goldman Sachs, wrote in a note the “key question” for the Fed’s meeting is whether policymakers signal “this is likely the first in a series of consecutive cuts” as the central bank is anticipated to “acknowledge the softening in the labor market,” though they may not “nod to an October cut.” Mericle said he…
