Eminem maintains a constant presence on the charts in the United Kingdom, typically with multiple titles at the same time. This week, as favorites like Curtain Call: The Hits and his recent release The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) continue to find space, his star-making set The Marshall Mathers LP returns to multiple rankings.

Eminem almost finds his way back to No. 1 on one roster, but he’s blocked from the summit by Mariah Carey — and this frame on the charts adds another chapter to a years-long feud between the two superstars.

The Marshall Mathers LP Blocked From No. 1 by Mariah Carey

The Marshall Mathers LP reappears on the Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums chart in the runner-up rung. Carey’s just-released new project Here for It All keeps the rapper from another turn at No. 1 as it starts it’s time on the list of the bestselling efforts in those genres in first place.

Carey scores her twelfth champion on the Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums chart as Here for It All begins its time on the roster at No. 1. She simultaneously earns a nineteenth top 10, and further extends her reign as one of the most successful R&B musicians of all time.

The Decades-Long Feud Between Eminem and Mariah Carey

Carey and Eminem have had tension for decades at this point. In the early 2000s, Eminem claimed that the two had dated, but the chanteuse has consistently denied any romantic entanglement with the hip-hop powerhouse.

The two have referenced one another in songs, with Eminem hinting at love and mocking her then-husband Nick Cannon in tracks like “Superman” and “The Warning.” In 2009, Carey dropped “Obsessed,” which broke into the top 10 on charts all around the world and was seemingly about Eminem, as the video even featured her dressing as the rapper himself.

Eminem’s Classic Album Returns to Multiple Charts

The Marshall Mathers LP rebounds onto multiple charts in the U.K. this week and even hits a new high on half of all the lists on which it appears. The decades-old project breaks back onto the Official Vinyl Albums chart at No. 11 and the Official Albums Sales list at No. 24, and those two figures mark loftier positions than the title has ever reached before. At the same time, the bestseller finds its way to No. 24 on the Official Physical Albums roster, though that space is not a newly-set best showing.

Anniversary Vinyl Boosts Sales for The Marshall Mathers LP

The Marshall Mathers LP surges in sales all around the world after an anniversary vinyl reissue was made available for purchase. The new wax version includes two live bonus tracks that were recorded at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, and the out-of-print vinyl quickly became a bestseller globally.

How The Marshall Mathers LP Made Eminem a Chart-Topper

The Marshall Mathers LP marked Eminem’s first No. 1 in the U.K., and it first debuted atop the Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums chart in June 2000. Since then, it has spent 840 weeks somewhere on the tally — more than 16 years as a bestseller in those genres. 26 of those frames, or exactly half a year, have been at No. 1, while it’s lived inside the top 10 for 68 periods, a sum that grows again this week.

The Marshall Mathers LP has not been seen inside the top 10 on the Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums chart since August 2024, though it hasn’t been long since the quarter-century-old Eminem win last lived on this list. In August of this year, the title rebounded just inside the top 40 and then disappeared again.

Mariah Carey’s Here for It All Debuts High on Multiple Charts

Carey’s Here for It All only manages to command the Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums chart, but the title earns lofty debuts on multiple tallies. The Grammy winner’s latest starts inside the top 10 on the Official Album Downloads and Official Albums Sales lists, coming in at Nos. 3 and 9, respectively. It also performs well on the Official Physical Albums, Official Vinyl Albums, and Official Albums charts, as Here for It All begins its time on those rosters at Nos. 11, 14, and 31, respectively.

Disney Pockets $2.2 Billion For Filming Outside America

The post Disney Pockets $2.2 Billion For Filming Outside America appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Disney has made $2.2 billion from filming productions like ‘Avengers: Endgame’ in the U.K. ©Marvel Studios 2018 Disney has been handed $2.2 billion by the government of the United Kingdom over the past 15 years in return for filming movies and streaming shows in the country according to analysis of more than 400 company filings Disney is believed to be the biggest single beneficiary of the Audio-Visual Expenditure Credit (AVEC) in the U.K. which gives studios a cash reimbursement of up to 25.5% of the money they spend there. The generous fiscal incentives have attracted all of the major Hollywood studios to the U.K. and the country has reeled in the returns from it. Data from the British Film Institute (BFI) shows that foreign studios contributed around 87% of the $2.2 billion (£1.6 billion) spent on making films in the U.K. last year. It is a 7.6% increase on the sum spent in 2019 and is in stark contrast to the picture in the United States. According to permit issuing office FilmLA, the number of on-location shooting days in Los Angeles fell 35.7% from 2019 to 2024 making it the second-least productive year since 1995 aside from 2020 when it was the height of the pandemic. The outlook hasn’t improved since then with FilmLA’s latest data showing that between April and June this year there was a 6.2% drop in shooting days on the same period a year ago. It followed a 22.4% decline in the first quarter with FilmLA noting that “each drop reflected the impact of global production cutbacks and California’s ongoing loss of work to rival territories.” The one-two punch of the pandemic followed by the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strikes put Hollywood on the ropes just as the U.K. began drafting a plan to improve its fiscal incentives…
