Trezor, a trailblazer in cryptocurrency hardware wallets, has unveiled its newest device — the Trezor Safe 7.

This latest release represents a leap forward in digital asset protection, debuting two groundbreaking innovations: the world’s first transparent and verifiable secure element (TROPIC01) and a quantum-resistant framework built to adapt to emerging cryptographic challenges. Encased in a sleek anodized aluminum body and equipped with a vivid touchscreen and open-source software, the Safe 7 unites design, functionality, and uncompromising security — empowering users with full control over their digital wealth.

Transparency Meets Security

At the heart of Safe 7 lies TROPIC01, a secure element unlike any before it. Unlike conventional chips that rely on closed, proprietary systems, TROPIC01’s open architecture allows for full public scrutiny and verification. This advancement eliminates the need for blind trust in opaque hardware, a long-standing issue in crypto security circles.

In anticipation of the coming age of quantum computing, Trezor has also engineered Safe 7 with quantum-resilient features, including a future-proof bootloader and support for post-quantum cryptographic updates. This ensures the wallet remains secure even as blockchain technology evolves toward quantum-safe standards.

Trezor’s CTO, Tomáš Sušanka, noted that transparency and resilience are the cornerstones of the company’s mission:

“Security has always been the foundation of everything we do at Trezor. With Trezor Safe 7, we’re introducing TROPIC01, the world’s first transparent and auditable secure element. It sets a new standard for both security and transparency in hardware wallets.”

He added that the acceleration of quantum technology motivated Trezor to ensure Safe 7 would be ready for future encryption models, keeping user assets safe as the industry transitions to post-quantum security protocols.

Layered Protection and Intuitive Design

Safe 7 employs a dual-secure-element system: the open, auditable TROPIC01 chip, complemented by a high-grade EAL6+ element, delivering both transparency and advanced physical defense. Every critical transaction must be verified on the device’s 2.5-inch color touchscreen, keeping private keys isolated and secure.

Trezor CEO Matěj Žák emphasized that Safe 7 embodies the company’s commitment to self-custody and user empowerment, combining strong security with modern convenience.

Beyond protection, Safe 7 offers practical, next-gen features: Bluetooth connectivity, Qi2 wireless charging, and seamless mobile integration through the open-source Trezor Host Protocol. The device is built for durability, featuring Gorilla Glass, IP54 dust- and splash-resistant design, and a long-life LiFePO4 battery. Users can manage, trade, and stake thousands of digital assets through Trezor Suite, the brand’s comprehensive management platform.

Pricing and Availability

The Trezor Safe 7 is available for pre-order from Trezor’s official store at $249 (€249), with shipping scheduled to begin in about four weeks. Customers can select from Charcoal Black or Bitcoin-only editions, with an Obsidian Green version coming soon.

Every pre-order includes a Magnetic Qi2-certified wireless charger as a complimentary bonus. Additional accessories, such as a vegan leather case, a universal protective case, a privacy screen, and a braided USB-C cable, are available separately.

About Trezor
