  • Tether invested $775 million in Rumble in December 2024 to support crypto projects including the tipping system

Rumble is preparing to introduce Bitcoin tipping for its content creators through a partnership with stablecoin issuer Tether. CEO Chris Pavlovski announced the feature at the Plan B Forum in Lugano, Switzerland, stating the rollout will begin in early to mid-December 2025.

The video-sharing platform currently has 51 million monthly active users. The Bitcoin tipping feature will allow viewers to send cryptocurrency payments directly to creators through a native Rumble wallet.

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino appeared alongside Pavlovski at the announcement. He said the feature is currently in testing phase with small bugs being fixed and user experience improvements being made.

During the presentation, the first Bitcoin tip on Rumble was sent to content creator David Freiheit, also known as Viva Frei. The Rumble team posted a video of the transaction on social media.

Tether previously invested $775 million in Rumble in December 2024. This investment was made to support various projects including the Bitcoin tipping system now being developed.

Bitcoin Treasury and Wallet Development

Rumble has been expanding its cryptocurrency operations beyond just tipping. The company adopted a Bitcoin treasury strategy in March 2025.

According to BitcoinTreasuries.NET data, Rumble currently holds 210.8 Bitcoin worth approximately $23.4 million. Earlier this year, the company announced plans to invest up to $20 million of its cash reserves in Bitcoin.

The platform is also collaborating with crypto payments firm MoonPay to develop crypto wallets for users. This wallet system will enable creators to receive, store, and manage their Bitcoin tips directly within the Rumble platform.

The MoonPay partnership will allow users to buy, store, and send digital assets through the Rumble app. Once launched, creators will be able to receive tips instantly and choose how to withdraw or use their funds.

Platform Growth and Market Position

Rumble positions itself as an alternative to YouTube with an anti-censorship stance. Pavlovski said digital currencies like Bitcoin can make the internet more equitable for creators.

Ardoino stated the tipping system will help creators who struggle with traditional financial services. He mentioned it will protect users from being “debanked” for their content.

The platform’s user base reached 51 million in the second quarter after dropping from 9 million in the first quarter. The company believes its crypto features will attract independent creators seeking alternatives to traditional payment systems.

Rumble shares closed at $7.14 on Friday, up 0.56% for the day. However, the stock remains down more than 45% since the beginning of the year.

The Bitcoin tipping feature will work alongside existing monetization options like advertising and subscriptions. Creators will have an additional revenue stream that operates independently of traditional payment processors.
