General Motors will lay off about 1,200 workers at its electric vehicle plant in Detroit, the automaker told multiple outlets on Wednesday, as well as 550 at a battery facility in Ohio as the company responds to “slower” electric vehicle adoption.
The job cuts will take place at an EV plant in Detroit and a battery plant in Ohio.
