XLM News: Stellar Price Slumps While New Payment Token Remittix Closes The Gap

For investors hunting the next big altcoin in 2025, the sharp focus has returned to utility-driven tokens and cross-chain DeFi projects. Right now, we’re seeing that shift play out as Stellar Lumens (XLM) falters, while a newcomer bridging crypto and real-world payments quietly builds momentum.

While XLM’s recent price slide rattles holders, the emerging payment finance solution is stepping in with serious traction and could offer an opportunity for early-stage crypto investment before the masses pile in.

XLM News: Pressure Mounts, Momentum Fades

Stellar Lumens is seeing some serious turbulence. The price dropped to approximately $0.3167, marking a 0.47% segment slide on October 29, and the weekly and monthly losses are steeper.

The technicals don’t look pretty: XLM recently hit resistance around $0.3147 and then broke through the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level, signalling waning momentum. Broader altcoin liquidity is drying up, and XLM is suffering as a result. With fewer fresh inflows and profit-taking kicking in, many traders are stepping aside.

That said, there is still underlying interest; locked value in XLM’s DeFi protocols has grown even as the price fell nearly 50% since December. If you’re positioned in XLM, the key levels to watch are support near $0.3027 and resistance around $0.3150. Reclaiming $0.3150 might hint at a reversal; failing that, a drop toward $0.29 is a possibility.

Remittix: Disruptor in the Wings

Remittix is a payment-first DeFi project that’s quietly gaining steam while XLM stumbles. Its real-world utility is shining through: recent funding levels, cross-chain architecture, and bank-payout rails all point to something more than just speculation.

Where older altcoins cling to past glories, Remittix is building infrastructure for the payments gap. Investors who want early-stage crypto investments and a real-world use case are already catching on. Analysts are even calling it “XRP 2.0,” given the payments overlap.

Why Remittix Is Gaining Traction:

  • Global reach: send crypto to bank accounts in 30+ countries.
  • Real-world utility: crypto-to-fiat conversion, supporting 40+ cryptos and 30+ fiat currencies.
  • Security first: audited by CertiK with high marks.
  • Low gas fee crypto characteristics: cross-chain wallet supports Ethereum and Solana with low transaction costs.
  • Strong funding: has raised over $27.7 million in private funding, showing demand/investor backing.

In comparison with XLM, Remittix positions itself as a new frontier, rather than a legacy network trying to rekindle growth. For those chasing high-growth crypto in 2025, Remittix is shaping up as a top contender.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
