On a daily basis, the Switch 2 sold around 35,967 units in September, just behind the PS5’s 38,552, according to Finbold Research calculations based on VGChartz data. Original Switch sales continue to decline Elsewhere in the market, Nintendo’s original Switch continued its long tail with 311,009 units sold in September, bringing lifetime sales to 151.93 million units. Still, demand is fading rapidly, with sales down by 62.5% year-on-year, a decline of over half a million units.  Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S fared even worse, recording just 149,337 units in September. That figure represents a 49.3% drop from the same month in 2024 and leaves lifetime sales at 33.68 million.
