Conor Benn didn’t think Chris Eubank Jr. would handle his power the first time they met last April. On Saturday, he likely won’t care much about whether he knocks out Eubank in their rematch. He simply wants to score the victory – for himself and for his family. Here’s everything you need to know about the Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn rematch, including the odds, their records and a prediction on who will win.

Even though Benn has fought most of his career at the 147-pound welterweight limit, he moved up to 160 pounds to face Eubank five months ago. And though Eubank has been a middleweight for the past five fights (after spending most of the previous four years as a 168-pound super middleweight), Benn thought he had the power to stop Eubank.

Sure, it appeared that he hurt Eubank a couple of times, but ultimately, Eubank fought better and harder to win the unanimous decision. It was another disappointment for the Benn family (in 1990, Nigel Benn was stopped by Chris Eubank Sr., and the two fought to a draw in 1993). On Saturday, Conor Benn just wants a win.

“Did I underestimate him? I did. I genuinely thought I’d knock him out in three or four rounds, on my heart,” Benn said. “That’s what I genuinely believed. So, I underestimated him, but he gave me one hell of a fight . . . It’s always hard processing the loss. Nobody prepares to lose. As fighters, we want to do our best, but ultimately we want to get a victory at all costs. It’s taught me a lot about myself. I went back to the drawing board and work and gained experience.”

It was Benn’s first loss as a professional, but he still had some impressive moments. Especially since he hadn’t had a meaningful fight in the prior three years after he failed a drug test in 2022 and was subsequently banned from fighting in the UK. Benn’s performance also drew respect from Eubank. But Eubank told me last month that he badly wants to stop Benn in their second meeting. Adding famed trainer Brian “BoMac” McIntyre to the Eubank team will be the difference, he said.

“I can’t fight with the same strategy and mentality,” Eubank said in an interview. “I have to switch the game up. BoMac and I have a great history, especially in rematches [McIntyre helped Eubank in the leadup to the second Liam Smith fight, where Eubank won by stoppage]. It’s great working with him and his team. You can see how and why Terence Crawford has been so successful.”

What’s been even more interesting for Eubank is the role reversal. Entering the first match, Eubank talked about how, throughout his career, he’s been cast in the role of villain – even in front of his British countrymen. After beating Benn the first time, though, he said that storyline has shifted.

What a crazy, crazy world we live in today,” he said in a recent press conference. “For my entire life as a professional fighter, I have been the villain and the bad guy. Fourteen years and 38 fights of people loving to hate me. I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but from what I’m seeing online these days and the interactions I’m having with people all over the world in the streets, I don’t know if I’m that guy anymore. It’s not just boxing fans that are approaching me now. It’s little girls, elderly folk, housewives, and people that really have nothing to do with boxing. They’re all greeting me and wishing me the best of luck. It’s humbling.”

Here’s more info on the Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn showdown that U.S. viewers can watch on DAZN PPV for $59.99 beginning at 11:45am ET on Saturday.

Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn odds

Before their first fight, Eubank was a -188 favorite and was +130 to stop Benn. This time, the money line is narrower with Eubank as the -155 favorite (bet $155 to win $100), while Benn is the +130 underdog (earn $130 on a $100 wager). And this time, you’ll win more money if you bet on Eubank to win by stoppage – he’s +225. A Benn KO victory meanwhile is priced at +275 and a Benn win by decision is +375.

If you were looking for a fun parlay for this weekend’s action of boxing (and this is only for entertainment purposes), I might take Eubank to beat Benn at -155, Jack Catterall to beat Ekow Essuman by decision at -140 and Emiliano Vargas to beat Jonathan Montrel at -2500. If all those hit, you’d win $193 on a $100 bet.

Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn records

Since 2018, Eubank (35-3, 25 KOs) has beaten all nine opponents he’s faced. Though he lost to Liam Smith in 2023, he followed that up nine months later with a stoppage victory in the rematch. Eubank lost to George Groves in 2018 and Billy Joe Saunders in 2014, but he’s also scored nice wins vs. Spike O’Sullivan, James DeGale and Kamil Szeremeta.

Despite losing his undefeated record to Eubank in April, Benn has defeated solid opponents like Chris Algieri, Adrian Granados and Samuel Vargas. Still, a win vs. Eubank would be the biggest of his career – and it would be the first time a Benn managed to beat a Eubank.

Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn prediction

The first time these two fought, I predicted Eubank would win by late knockout. Now I feel like if anybody is going to get knocked out, it would be Eubank. But I don’t think Benn will manage that. This fight won’t be as exciting as the first encounter, but I expect Eubank to outbox Benn and avoid enough trouble to win another unanimous decision. Say somewhere in the 117-111 range.

Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC

The post Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson has weighed in on whether the Federal Reserve should make a 25 basis points (bps) Fed rate cut or 50 bps cut. This comes ahead of the Fed decision today at today’s FOMC meeting, with the market pricing in a 25 bps cut. Bitcoin and the broader crypto market are currently trading flat ahead of the rate cut decision. Franklin Templeton CEO Weighs In On Potential FOMC Decision In a CNBC interview, Jenny Johnson said that she expects the Fed to make a 25 bps cut today instead of a 50 bps cut. She acknowledged the jobs data, which suggested that the labor market is weakening. However, she noted that this data is backward-looking, indicating that it doesn’t show the current state of the economy. She alluded to the wage growth, which she remarked is an indication of a robust labor market. She added that retail sales are up and that consumers are still spending, despite inflation being sticky at 3%, which makes a case for why the FOMC should opt against a 50-basis-point Fed rate cut. In line with this, the Franklin Templeton CEO said that she would go with a 25 bps rate cut if she were Jerome Powell. She remarked that the Fed still has the October and December FOMC meetings to make further cuts if the incoming data warrants it. Johnson also asserted that the data show a robust economy. However, she noted that there can’t be an argument for no Fed rate cut since Powell already signaled at Jackson Hole that they were likely to lower interest rates at this meeting due to concerns over a weakening labor market. Notably, her comment comes as experts argue for both sides on why the Fed should make a 25 bps cut or…
