Tether, the company behind the world’s largest stablecoin USDT USDT$0.9992, said Thursday it has invested in Parfin, a Latin American crypto firm that builds digital asset infrastructure for institutions. The firm said the deal will help scale tools for banks and institutions to move more of their operations onto blockchain rails, a shift Tether sees as critical for making crypto infrastructure more practical and accessible in regions with limited financial infrastructure. The firms did not disclose details of the investment. The investment is part of Tether’s larger push to deepen its footprint in emerging markets and expand the real-world use of USDT for cross-border payments and asset tokenization. The partnership also signals that Tether, long seen primarily as a retail-focused stablecoin issuer for emerging market users, is now pushing deeper into the institutional layer of crypto finance. Parfin offers tools for custody, tokenization, and blockchain-based settlement aimed at financial institutions. Its services are tailored for use cases like trade finance, credit markets, and institutional payments, areas where Tether wants to see broader adoption of USDT as a settlement asset. Elizabeth Warren raises ethics concerns over White House crypto czar David Sacks’ tenure

The post Elizabeth Warren raises ethics concerns over White House crypto czar David Sacks’ tenure appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Democratic lawmakers pressed David Sacks, President Donald Trump’s “crypto and AI czar,” on Sept. 17 to disclose whether he has exceeded the time limits of his temporary White House appointment, raising questions about possible ethics violations. In a letter signed by Senator Elizabeth Warren and seven other members of Congress, the lawmakers said Sacks may have surpassed the 130-day cap for Special Government Employees, a category that allows private-sector professionals to serve the government on a part-time or temporary basis. If he has worked past the legal limit, the lawmakers warned, his continued dual roles could represent a breach of ethics. Counting the days According to the letter, Sacks was appointed in December 2024 and began working around Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025. By the lawmakers’ calculation, he reached the 130-day threshold in…
