One of the biggest rivalries from the UFC Octagon between McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov has exploded into the world of digital assets.

On November 26, McGregor publicly accused the retired UFC champion of orchestrating a multi-million dollar “scam” by leveraging his late father’s legacy and Dagestani cultural symbols to promote a non-fungible token (NFT) project.

The controversy centers on Nurmagomedov’s “Papakha” NFT collection, which featured digital versions of the traditional sheepskin hat he wore during his walkouts.

The dispute started after Nurmagomedov launched and quickly promoted the NFT collection on social media. The project was marketed as an exclusive digital gift honoring his heritage and that of his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.

The collection of 29,000 NFTs sold out within 25 hours, reportedly generating millions of dollars. However, backlash erupted when Nurmagomedov subsequently deleted all promotional posts from his Instagram and X accounts.

McGregor seized the opportunity to attack his long-time rival. In a post on X, he said, “There is just no way good guy Khabib used his late father’s name, as well as Dagestan’s culture, to scam his fans and fire sell a bunch of digital NFTs online and then delete all of the content after they were sold, leaving his fans robbed of their money? There is just no way a good guy does this.”

Nurmagomedov’s team also responded to the allegations, calling McGregor an “absolute liar.” He defended the project, insisting that the NFTs were legitimate “exclusive digital gifts with real-time value” that could be shared.

Gifts in the shape of Papakha – a hat that symbolizes the traditions and culture of the Dagestan people. Traditions and culture that are slowly walking over this world, whether you like it or not! Gifts that you can find exclusively on Telegram, the greatest messaging platform in the world,” he stated on X.

ZachXBT Picks a Side in Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Beef

Just hours after Conor McGregor’s tweet on X, the popular online investigator known as ZachXBT issued a devastating public response. The on-chain sleuth used McGregor’s own words against him/

He reposted the accusation, asking if anyone could believe “good guy McGregor” would use his reputation and Irish culture to scam fans with digital tokens and then delete the evidence.

The post was supported by concrete evidence from a 2022 NFT project called “McGregor Realm” that the fighter has promoted.

The post IP Hits $11.75, HYPE Climbs to $55, BlockDAG Surpasses Both with $407M Presale Surge! appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Crypto News 17 September 2025 | 18:00 Discover why BlockDAG’s upcoming Awakening Testnet launch makes it the best crypto to buy today as Story (IP) price jumps to $11.75 and Hyperliquid hits new highs. Recent crypto market numbers show strength but also some limits. The Story (IP) price jump has been sharp, fueled by big buybacks and speculation, yet critics point out that revenue still lags far behind its valuation. The Hyperliquid (HYPE) price looks solid around the mid-$50s after a new all-time high, but questions remain about sustainability once the hype around USDH proposals cools down. So the obvious question is: why chase coins that are either stretched thin or at risk of retracing when you could back a network that’s already proving itself on the ground? That’s where BlockDAG comes in. While other chains are stuck dealing with validator congestion or outages, BlockDAG’s upcoming Awakening Testnet will be stress-testing its EVM-compatible smart chain with real miners before listing. For anyone looking for the best crypto coin to buy, the choice between waiting on fixes or joining live progress feels like an easy one. BlockDAG: Smart Chain Running Before Launch Ethereum continues to wrestle with gas congestion, and Solana is still known for network freezes, yet BlockDAG is already showing a different picture. Its upcoming Awakening Testnet, set to launch on September 25, isn’t just a demo; it’s a live rollout where the chain’s base protocols are being stress-tested with miners connected globally. EVM compatibility is active, account abstraction is built in, and tools like updated vesting contracts and Stratum integration are already functional. Instead of waiting for fixes like other networks, BlockDAG is proving its infrastructure in real time. What makes this even more important is that the technology is operational before the coin even hits exchanges. That…
