The two Wicked movies have completely changed the trajectory of Ariana Grande’s career. While she got her start in musical theater, the superstar is largely known for her vocal talents and many hit singles and bestselling albums. Grande has not focused on acting for years, but she returned to the art form to play Glinda the Good Witch in both Wicked and its recently-released sequel, Wicked: For Good. The two films helped prove that she is not only a talented singer, but also a great actress, as Grande earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the first Wicked film and could repeat that feat relatively soon.

Grande has also added to her list of wins on the Billboard charts thanks to the soundtracks that accompany both Wicked movies, and this week, Grande scores a pair of new hits on the Hot 100 as two Wicked: For Good cuts debut.

Ariana Grande’s “For Good” Almost Launches Inside the Top 40

Grande nearly returns to the top 40 on the Hot 100 with her co-star Cynthia Erivo, but the two miss out on the region by just a few spots. “For Good,” perhaps the biggest song in the second half of the Broadway musical — which shares its title with the new film — arrives at No. 43 this week.

“The Girl In The Bubble” Debuts on the Hot 100

Grande manages to claim two debuts on the Hot 100, as “The Girl in the Bubble” launches at No. 100, in last place on the ranking of the most consumed songs throughout the United States. “The Girl in the Bubble” is one of two cuts that composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz crafted for Wicked: For Good that do not appear in the original stage adaptation. “The Girl in the Bubble” is performed by Grande, while Erivo leads “No Place Like Home.”

Ariana Grande Approaches a Major Hot 100 Milestone

As both “For Good” and “The Girl in the Bubble” debut, Grande takes two important steps toward an important career milestone. Throughout her decade-plus as a pop and R&B superstar, the Grammy winner has racked up 98 hits on the most competitive songs tally in America. While Grande has not announced any plans for more brand new music, it might not be long before she joins the group of artists who have racked up triple-digit wins on the ranking.

Ariana Grande’s Seasonal Smash “Santa Tell Me” Climbs Again

Grande claims a trio of hits on the Hot 100 this week, with two tied to Wicked: For Good. “Santa Tell Me,” her most celebrated holiday composition and one of the most successful modern Christmas cuts, advances again as Americans get back into the jolly spirit. “Santa Tell Me” improves from No. 19 to No. 13, and with some luck, the song could crack the top 10 again in just a few days. In the past, “Santa Tell Me” has peaked at No. 5 on the Hot 100, a position it could very well reach again before the season is through.

“For Good” Earns Ariana Grande a Major Win in the U.S.

While “The Girl in the Bubble” only appears on the Hot 100, “For Good” is a true smash as it debuts on multiple Billboard rankings. “For Good” opens at No. 3 on the Digital Song Sales tally, earning Grande her thirty-second career top 10 bestseller after the duet sold a little more than 5,100 copies in the most recent tracking period, according to Luminate. “For Good” earns the highest debut this week on the list of the top-selling tunes throughout the country.

The same collaboration also makes it to the Streaming Songs chart, beginning its time inside the top 40, at No. 35. “For Good” lands on both worldwide tallies, flying to No. 41 on the Billboard Global 200 and starting at No. 82 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S.

Several Wicked: For Good Songs Almost Reach the Hot 100

Grande almost reaches 100 Hot 100 smashes this week as several other tracks from the Wicked: For Good soundtrack debut on the Bubbling Under Hot 100, just missing the main roster. That tally ranks the 25 most consumed songs in the country that do not quite make it to the top chart. “Thank Goodness / I Couldn’t Be Happier” with Michelle Yeoh drops in at No. 4, “Everyday More Wicked” with Erivo and Yeoh is new at No. 15, and “Wonderful,” a collaboration between Grande, Erivo, and Jeff Goldblum, begins at No. 18.
