Andrew Grenville Joins Phosio’s Board to Accelerate AR/AI Glasses Commercialization

CORVALLIS, Ore.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Phosio is excited to announce that Andrew Grenville, former CEO of Inpria, has joined its Board of Directors. Grenville is a recognized leader in advanced materials and semiconductor innovation, with deep experience guiding materials platforms from early-stage development through manufacturing scale-up and strategic acquisition, including the successful sale of Inpria to JSR Corporation.

“We are thrilled to welcome Andrew to Phosio’s Board,” said Omid Sadeghi, CEO and founder of Phosio. “He has repeatedly demonstrated how to build exceptional teams and translate breakthrough materials into real-world impact. Andrew’s experience co-founding and scaling Inpria alongside Phosio co-founder Doug Keszler is directly relevant as we work to build another category-defining company.”

As CEO of Inpria, Grenville led the commercialization of metal-oxide photoresist materials critical to next-generation semiconductor manufacturing. His leadership helped transform cutting-edge R&D into large-scale industrial adoption and a strategic exit.

“Phosio has the technical foundation and vision to unlock mass-market AR/AI glasses,” said Grenville. “I’m excited to join the Board and help the team scale a platform that can fundamentally change how people interact with digital information.”

Joe O’Keeffe, Executive Chairman of Phosio, added, “Andrew’s ability to bring breakthrough technologies to market and navigate strategic partnerships will be instrumental as Phosio accelerates customer engagement and commercialization.”

Enabling the Next Generation of AR/AI Glasses

AR/AI glasses represent the next major shift in consumer electronics, but widespread adoption has been limited by display technology that is bulky, power-hungry, or expensive. Phosio’s thin-film materials platform addresses this gap by enabling compact, affordable, high-performance displays integrated directly into lightweight eyewear, making visual AI practical for everyday use.

About Phosio

Phosio develops advanced lens coating materials that enable immersive visual experiences through lightweight AR eyewear. Its proprietary thin-film platform integrates high-performance displays into everyday glasses, enabling consumer electronics companies to deliver practical, affordable AR glasses with integrated displays.

UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach

The post UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. British crypto holders may soon face a very different landscape as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) moves to expand its regulatory reach in the industry. A new consultation paper outlines how the watchdog intends to apply its rulebook to crypto firms, shaping everything from asset safeguarding to trading platform operation. According to the financial regulator, these proposals would translate into clearer protections for retail investors and stricter oversight of crypto firms. UK FCA plans Until now, UK crypto users mostly encountered the FCA through rules on promotions and anti-money laundering checks. The consultation paper goes much further. It proposes direct oversight of stablecoin issuers, custodians, and crypto-asset trading platforms (CATPs). For investors, that means the wallets, exchanges, and coins they rely on could soon be subject to the same governance and resilience standards as traditional financial institutions. The regulator has also clarified that firms need official authorization before serving customers. David Geale, the FCA’s executive director of payments and digital finance, said the proposals are designed to strike a balance between innovation and protection. He explained: “We want to develop a sustainable and competitive crypto sector – balancing innovation, market integrity and trust.” Geale noted that while the rules will not eliminate investment risks, they will create consistent standards, helping consumers understand what to expect from registered firms. Why does this matter for crypto holders? The UK regulatory framework shift would provide safer custody of assets, better disclosure of risks, and clearer recourse if something goes wrong. However, the regulator was also frank in its submission, arguing that no rulebook can eliminate the volatility or inherent risks of holding digital assets. Instead, the focus is on ensuring that when consumers choose to invest, they do…
