MANILA, Philippines – Catholics expressed their devotion to the suffering Christ as they joined the Traslacion, the grand procession for the Feast of Jesus Nazareno, in the streets of Manila on Friday, January 9.
Held on the same date every year, the feast venerates what is previously known as the Black Nazarene. Believers deem the image to be miraculous.
While the Traslacion is traditionally held in Manila, devotees in other parts of the Philippines also organized their own celebrations — even on virtual platforms.
Here are some scenes from this year’s Feast of Jesus Nazareno.
