UNI Struggles at $5 & Monero Surges While ZKP Crypto Raises the Stakes With a $5M Giveaway for 10 Winners

2026/01/20 06:57

Crypto markets are entering early 2026 with noticeably different rhythms. Some assets remain trapped in technical consolidation, others are surging on structural demand, and a new class of projects is redefining how value enters the system. This divergence is reshaping how traders evaluate the next crypto to explode, moving beyond pure chart patterns into broader economic design.

Uniswap and Monero illustrate this split clearly. While the Uniswap price remains pinned below resistance with limited accumulation, the Monero price has surged to multi-year highs as privacy regains strategic relevance. At the same time, Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) is building momentum through participation economics, anchored by auctions, hardware contribution, and a $5M incentive campaign that is attracting attention across the market.

Uniswap Drifts While Buyers Remain Cautious

At the time of writing Uniswap price continues to struggle beneath the $5.34 resistance band, trading near $5 as muted demand caps recovery attempts. Market structure remains weak, with UNI sitting below its short-term EMA cluster while RSI near 45 reflects neutral-to-bearish momentum. Trading volume remains thin, reinforcing the lack of conviction behind recent rebounds.

On-chain data confirms the technical picture. Net outflows remain slightly negative, pointing to light distribution rather than aggressive accumulation. While downside pressure has intensified following a breakdown below the $5.30 zone, failure to reclaim former support has left the Uniswap price vulnerable to a continued drift toward the $4.90–$5.00 support area. Recent price action shows sellers maintaining control, with rebounds lacking follow-through and volume confirming weak demand near resistance.

For traders hunting the next crypto to explode, Uniswap currently reflects compression rather than momentum. The Uniswap price must reclaim the $5.40–$5.60 range with convincing volume before sentiment can materially improve. Until that occurs, UNI remains a governance-focused asset stuck in a corrective phase, as speculative capital rotates toward tokens offering clearer upside asymmetry.

Monero Surges as Privacy Regains Strategic Value

In sharp contrast, the Monero price has surged to nearly $677 before dropping to $635 levels at the time of writing, marking its highest level in almost eight years and posting gains of more than 60% over the past month. The rally reflects renewed demand for privacy-focused assets as surveillance concerns, regulatory pressure, and censorship risks return to the forefront of crypto narratives.

Analysts caution against chasing the move blindly, noting that social hype and FOMO are rising quickly. However, long-term conviction remains strong. Market observers highlight Monero’s default privacy architecture as a rare property in an industry increasingly shaped by compliance.

While Zcash once dominated attention, capital rotation has clearly favored Monero. Even so, liquidity remains concentrated on fewer exchanges, adding volatility risk. For now, the Monero price reflects strategic accumulation rather than speculative mania, positioning XMR as one of the most structurally supported privacy assets in the market.

Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) Builds a Participation Economy

Zero Knowledge Proof is approaching market adoption from a different angle entirely. Rather than relying on speculative supply shocks, the project distributes value through a daily auction that releases 200 million ZKP every 24 hours. This auction sets the reference price for the entire ecosystem, creating transparent price discovery without private allocations or fixed presale tiers.

That auction model connects directly to Proof Pods, plug-and-play compute devices that validate AI tasks, generate zero-knowledge proofs, and earn ZKP based on real contribution. Rewards are calculated using the previous day’s auction price, ensuring that earnings reflect live market consensus rather than protocol-assigned values.

Each Proof Pod can be upgraded from Level 1 to Level 300 through software boosts, with every level increasing earning capacity by approximately $1 per day in ZKP value. All activity, rewards, and compute output are visible both on-chain and inside the user dashboard, creating a verifiable contribution economy rather than a passive yield model.

Technologically, Zero Knowledge Proof supports EVM and WASM compatibility, zk-SNARK and zk-STARK proofs, and a hybrid consensus design balancing compute and storage participation. The network is built specifically for privacy-preserving AI computation, secure data validation, and decentralized collaboration.

Alongside this infrastructure, Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) is running a $5 million giveaway for ten winners, each receiving $500,000 in ZKP. Participation requires holding at least $100 worth of ZKP, following official channels, sharing the campaign, and referring others. Referral rewards distribute 20% to referrers and 10% to referred participants, reinforcing network growth without altering auction mechanics.

Rather than presenting itself as the next crypto to explode through price hype, Zero Knowledge Proof is positioning itself as a participation system where value is earned, verified, and priced daily by the market itself.

Closing Note!

The Uniswap price remains technically constrained, Monero continues to ride structural demand, and Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) introduces a third path centered on contribution rather than speculation. Each reflects a different phase of crypto evolution.

For investors assessing the next crypto to explode, the comparison is no longer just about charts. It is about how value enters circulation, how incentives align, and how participation is rewarded. Monero offers scarcity through privacy, Uniswap offers governance exposure while Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) offers a system where economic value is built from verified action.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…

Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC

The post Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson has weighed in on whether the Federal Reserve should make a 25 basis points (bps) Fed rate cut or 50 bps cut. This comes ahead of the Fed decision today at today’s FOMC meeting, with the market pricing in a 25 bps cut. Bitcoin and the broader crypto market are currently trading flat ahead of the rate cut decision. Franklin Templeton CEO Weighs In On Potential FOMC Decision In a CNBC interview, Jenny Johnson said that she expects the Fed to make a 25 bps cut today instead of a 50 bps cut. She acknowledged the jobs data, which suggested that the labor market is weakening. However, she noted that this data is backward-looking, indicating that it doesn’t show the current state of the economy. She alluded to the wage growth, which she remarked is an indication of a robust labor market. She added that retail sales are up and that consumers are still spending, despite inflation being sticky at 3%, which makes a case for why the FOMC should opt against a 50-basis-point Fed rate cut. In line with this, the Franklin Templeton CEO said that she would go with a 25 bps rate cut if she were Jerome Powell. She remarked that the Fed still has the October and December FOMC meetings to make further cuts if the incoming data warrants it. Johnson also asserted that the data show a robust economy. However, she noted that there can’t be an argument for no Fed rate cut since Powell already signaled at Jackson Hole that they were likely to lower interest rates at this meeting due to concerns over a weakening labor market. Notably, her comment comes as experts argue for both sides on why the Fed should make a 25 bps cut or…
