The Dubai Racing Club has announced an innovative collaboration with Tokinvest, a Dubai-based company, to explore the creation of a pioneering program for the tokenization of racehorses. The goal is ambitious: to develop a global marketplace for equine tokens and offer fans new ways to engage with the world of high-level horse racing.
This initiative, still pending regulatory approval, aims to debut during the 2026/27 racing season in Dubai, marking a potential turning point in the interaction between the public and sports. Full details, including the horses involved and the different tiers of participation, will be communicated in the months leading up to the official launch.
The proposed program will allow fans and investors to purchase digital tokens linked to a horse’s racing career. Holders of these tokens will be able to participate in the race earnings related to the tokenized share of the animal and gain access to exclusive experiences on race days, with benefits varying according to the level of the token purchased.
Some selected tiers will offer high-profile benefits, such as premium hospitality, stable visits, and exclusive behind-the-scenes moments, allowing supporters to closely experience the competitive journey of the horses.
The initiative aims to merge regulated digital participation with real experiences, offering enthusiasts a deeper and more immersive connection with the sport. It is a true bridge between the tradition of horse racing and next-generation financial infrastructures.
Ali Al Ali, board member and CEO of Dubai Racing Club, emphasized how the program has the potential to redefine the way people experience horse racing: “By transforming spectators into stakeholders, we open the door to a new era of fan engagement, while simultaneously strengthening Dubai’s position as a global hub for innovation in horse racing.”
The management of tokenization and the entire product lifecycle will be entrusted to Tokinvest, a regulated platform and licensed broker-dealer in Dubai. Tokinvest will also handle investor onboarding, KYC/AML processes, digital asset custody, and the transparent distribution of profits.
Scott Thiel, CEO and co-founder of Tokinvest, stated: “Through the partnership with Dubai Racing Club, we are proud to bring regulated tokenization to one of the most prestigious sports in the world. This will be the first global marketplace dedicated to equine tokenization, combining tradition and innovation and offering supporters a meaningful and compliant way to participate in the excitement of racing.”
The Dubai Racing Club is the organizer of horse racing at the Meydan Racecourse, a venue that hosts events from November to March, including the renowned Dubai World Cup. Founded in 1992, the club has contributed to the development of horse racing in Dubai, bringing the best horses and jockeys from around the world to the city.
The Dubai World Cup represents the pinnacle of Dubai’s sporting and social calendar, with a total prize pool of $30.5 million distributed across nine races, with a substantial $12 million awarded to the main race. The Meydan Racecourse is recognized as the largest integrated racing facility in the world, featuring an iconic grandstand over 800 meters long and a capacity exceeding 60,000 spectators.
Tokinvest stands out as a regulated platform that connects issuers of real assets with investors globally. Through the creation of virtual tokens representing rights to real assets, Tokinvest streamlines the entire investment process, from creation to trading to asset management. The Dubai headquarters allows operations in a robust regulatory environment, offering investors access to high-value assets.
The partnership between Dubai Racing Club and Tokinvest marks a decisive step towards the modernization of horse racing, offering new opportunities for both enthusiasts and investors. If approved, the racehorse tokenization program could become a global model, capable of attracting an increasingly broad and diverse audience, combining the passion for the sport with the power of digital technologies and decentralized finance.
Awaiting further details and final approval, the horse racing world looks with interest to Dubai, ready to experience a new era of engagement, transparency, and innovation.
