Trump doubles down on threats to Minnesota in wake of DHS shooting: 'criminal cover up!'

President Donald Trump doubled down on his threats against Minnesota Sunday in the wake of the deadly shooting by federal immigration officers, alleging that the entire state is engaged in a “criminal cover up” over alleged fraud.

“Minnesota is a Criminal COVER UP of the massive Financial Fraud that has gone on!” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social Sunday.

Trump deployed thousands of federal immigration officers to Minnesota over the alleged fraud scandal involving Somali daycares. Their immigration operations have resulted in several deadly encounters, including the killing of Renee Good earlier this month, and the killing of Alex Pretti on Saturday.

In the wake of Pretti’s killing, Trump has gone on to accuse Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey of “inciting insurrection,” and has continued to threaten invoking the Insurrection Act to deploy the U.S. military to the state.
