BAFTA Film Awards 2026: Complete List Of Nominees

One Battle After Another and Sinners are among the top nominees for the 2026 EE British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards, announced Tuesday in London.

Written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, One Battle After Another earned 14 BAFTA nominations, while writer-director Ryan Coogler’s Sinners earned 13 nods. Both One Battle After Another and Sinners are up for Best Film, along with Hamnet, Marty Supreme and Sentimental Value. Unlike the Oscars, which nominates 10 films, the BAFTAs only nominates six films.

The Academy Awards are also different from the BAFTAs in that the Oscars only nominate five people in the directing and acting categories, whereas the British Academy nominates six.

As such, Anderson and Coogler, along with Yorgos Lanthimos (Bugonia), Josh Safdie (Marty Supreme), Chloé Zhao (Hamnet) and Joachim Trier (Sentimental Value), are in the running for Best Director.

Frankenstein and its director, Guillermo del Toro, were snubbed in both the Best Film and Best Director categories. The filmmaker was also snubbed by the Oscars in the Best Director category last week, but he is one of the five nominees for the top award from the Directors Guild of America.

The Frankenstein filmmaker, who earned a Best Original Screenplay nomination from the Oscars last week, was also snubbed by the BAFTAs in the same category.

The Netflix animated hit KPop Demon Hunters was also noticably absent in the BAFTA nominations, but that’s because the film was deemed ineligible by the organization ahead of the release of its longlists on Jan. 9.

The 2026 EE BAFTA nominations were announced Tuesday at 12 p.m. in the U.K. by Aimee Lou Wood (The White Lotus Season 3) and David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus, The Long Walk). The BAFTAs will be handed out on Sunday, Feb. 22, in London.
