Healthcare and social work was the fastest growing sector in Dubai last year, as the emirate’s GDP reached AED355 billion ($97 billion) in the first nine months of 2025.
The human health and social work activities sector grew by 15.4 percent, adding AED5.3 billion, or 1.5 percent, to GDP between January and September 2025, the state-run Dubai Media Office reported on Monday.
In the third quarter of 2025, the sector grew by 8.7 percent, with value added reaching AED2 billion, up from AED1.8 billion in the same period in 2024.
The emirate will host the World Health Expo, formerly known as Arab Health, this month, bringing together more than 270,000 healthcare professionals and 4,800 exhibitors from over 180 countries.
Dubai’s economy expanded 4.7 percent year on year in the first nine months, the report said.
The construction sector grew by 8.5 percent year on year, adding AED23.9 billion to GDP during the period.
The real estate sector increased by 6.7 percent over the same timeframe, contributing 8.2 percent or AED29 billion to the emirates’ GDP.
