Animoca Brands, a global digital assets leader building and investing in impactful technologies and ecosystems to reimagine future economies, and CryptoSlam’s Ethoswarm, which generates persistent AI minds with their own identity, memory, and cognition, announced a strategic partnership to launch Animoca Minds, a new service that enables users to deploy and operate persistent AI agents. Powered by the Ethoswarm protocol, Animoca Minds leverages existing base frameworks to democratize access to the agentic web, allowing any non‑technical user to deploy sovereign, persistent AI agents seamlessly without the need to run local servers or manage any hardware. Register for early access to Animoca Minds at animocaminds.com.

Animoca Minds provides anyone curious about AI with a streamlined, white‑label experience that simplifies the process of deploying and maintaining AI agents. The service addresses current barriers to participation in the agentic economy, which often requires technical setup such as running local infrastructure or writing command-line scripts.

Users “awaken” a personalized AI agent that is always-on in the cloud. The service helps  to broaden participation in agent‑based software by allowing users of any knowledge level to operate persistent agents as ongoing, always-on services rather than one‑off sessions.

Animoca Minds emphasizes practical utility while familiarizing users with the capabilities of agentic AI and the opportunities being unlocked by this rapidly evolving field of technology. Instead of interacting with a blank terminal, users can choose from a set of specialized agent profiles, such as a market researcher who provides real-time industry insights and trends, or a crypto scout that identifies up-and-coming Web3 applications and protocols. The practical approach of Animoca Minds steers users toward improved AI literacy, allowing non-technical users to steward powerful tools safely and effectively.

Blockchain powers the identity, economics, and provenance layers of the service. To ensure ease of use and mass accessibility, complex blockchain interfaces have been abstracted away to provide a simple and streamlined experience. Users interact with their agents using natural language via email and Telegram, with additional messaging apps to be added.

Randy Wasinger, founder and CEO of CryptoSlam, which is the builder behind Ethoswarm, commented: “Ethoswarm was built to ensure that AI agents are persistent, sovereign, and safe. However, the true potential of this technology is only realized when it reaches the hands of everyday users. By partnering with Animoca Brands, we are able to abstract away the complexity of the infrastructure layer. We are thrilled to power Animoca Minds, proving that you don’t need hardware to steward a powerful, persistent AI – you just need the right framework.”

Mohamed Ezeldin, head of Animoca Labs at Animoca Brands, commented: “We are moving past the phase where true AI agency was reserved for engineers and private servers. Our goal is to democratize access to innovation by leveraging robust base frameworks that allow anyone to launch a persistent sovereign agent seamlessly. We view Animoca Minds as a guided journey; we are stripping away the technical complexity so that ‘Awakening’ your own specialist AI agent becomes as simple as signing up for a service. We want to give everyone the same powerful tools for digital leverage that were previously available only to the tech-savvy.”

Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, commented: “For decades, software has required us to adapt to its learning curves. AI agents flip that relationship around: the agent adapts to you by learning your context and helping you perform actions while amplifying your judgment. We’re absolutely thrilled to launch Animoca Minds together with Ethoswarm and CryptoSlam. Blockchain provides AI with true agency: it provides ownership, settlement, and a native way to transact in tokenized goods and services. When agents can work through familiar channels like email or messaging, they can also make on-chain activity feel more natural than manually managing wallets and transactions.”

Animoca Minds is currently accepting early access applications for its initial rollout. For more information and to begin your journey into the agentic web, visit animocaminds.com.

Cashing In On University Patents Means Giving Up On Our Innovation Future

The post Cashing In On University Patents Means Giving Up On Our Innovation Future appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. “It’s a raid on American innovation that would deliver pennies to the Treasury while kneecapping the very engine of our economic and medical progress,” writes Pipes. Getty Images Washington is addicted to taxing success. Now, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is floating a plan to skim half the patent earnings from inventions developed at universities with federal funding. It’s being sold as a way to shore up programs like Social Security. In reality, it’s a raid on American innovation that would deliver pennies to the Treasury while kneecapping the very engine of our economic and medical progress. Yes, taxpayer dollars support early-stage research. But the real payoff comes later—in the jobs created, cures discovered, and industries launched when universities and private industry turn those discoveries into real products. By comparison, the sums at stake in patent licensing are trivial. Universities collectively earn only about $3.6 billion annually in patent income—less than the federal government spends on Social Security in a single day. Even confiscating half would barely register against a $6 trillion federal budget. And yet the damage from such a policy would be anything but trivial. The true return on taxpayer investment isn’t in licensing checks sent to Washington, but in the downstream economic activity that federally supported research unleashes. Thanks to the bipartisan Bayh-Dole Act of 1980, universities and private industry have powerful incentives to translate early-stage discoveries into real-world products. Before Bayh-Dole, the government hoarded patents from federally funded research, and fewer than 5% were ever licensed. Once universities could own and license their own inventions, innovation exploded. The result has been one of the best returns on investment in government history. Since 1996, university research has added nearly $2 trillion to U.S. industrial output, supported 6.5 million jobs, and launched more than 19,000 startups. Those companies pay…
