21Shares filed an S-1 with the SEC for a spot ONDO ETF, aiming to offer regulated exposure to tokenized real-world assets.

21Shares has filed a Form S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to launch an ONDO ETF.

The filing reflects growing institutional attention toward tokenized real-world assets. The proposed fund would offer regulated exposure to the ONDO token through a spot exchange-traded product.

Details of the 21Shares ONDO ETF Filing

21Shares has filed an application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to launch a spot Ondo (ONDO) ETF, becoming the first firm to pursue a U.S. fund tied to a protocol focused ondigital version of real assets assets.

If approved, the 21Shares Ondo Trust would provide institutional investors with controlled exposure to on-chain treasuries and tokenized financial products through a familiar ETF structure.

The ETF tracks the CME CF Ondo Finance-Dollar Reference Rate. This benchmark calculates the fund’s daily net asset value.

Share pricing would reflect the spot market price of ONDO.

Coinbase Custody Trust Company is listed as the custodian. It would be responsible for protecting the underlying ONDO tokens.

The filing also allows authorized participants to create or redeem shares through cash or in-kind transfers.

This structure follows patterns seen in other spot crypto ETF filings. It is designed to meet regulatory standards for custody and pricing.

The filing outlines operational details required for SEC review.

Ondo Finance and Its Role in RWA Tokenization

Ondo Finance focuses on bringing traditional financial assets onto blockchain networks. Its products include tokenized U.S. Treasuries and yield-bearing funds.

These offerings are structured for institutional and compliant use.

The platform aims to provide blockchain-based access to familiar financial instruments. It targets asset managers, investment funds, and corporate investors.

Ondo emphasizes clarity, compliance, and operational controls.

The company operates within the growing real-world asset sector. Estimates place the on-chain RWA market at around $25 billion.

Demand for tokenized versions of traditional assets has driven growth.

Ondo has positioned itself to meet regulatory expectations. Its infrastructure is designed to support large-scale institutional participation. This focus aligns with broader trends in asset tokenization.

Institutional Access and Regulatory Considerations

The ONDO ETF would provide a regulated access point for institutional investors. ETFs are widely used across traditional finance markets.

This structure lowers operational and custody barriers for large investors.

Ondo’s acquisition of SEC-registered broker-dealer Oasis Pro supports this approach. The acquisition expanded Ondo’s regulatory framework. It also reinforced its focus on compliant asset issuance and trading.

The SEC review process will examine disclosures, custody arrangements, and market structure.

Approval timelines remain unsure. The filing joins a growing list of crypto-related ETF applications under review.

21Shares has experience launching controlled digital asset products. Its filings often target institutional demand through familiar investment vehicles.

The ONDO ETF would extend that strategy into real-world asset tokenization.

The filing reflects continued interest in linking traditional finance with blockchain systems.

Asset managers continue to seek controlled exposure to on-chain assets. Market participants are closely watching the SEC review process.

Arbitrageurs profited over $40 million from pricing mismatches on Polymarket in a single year.

Arbitrageurs profited over $40 million from pricing mismatches on Polymarket in a single year.

PANews reported on September 18th that, according to Decrypt, a new academic paper revealed systematic pricing biases on the prediction market platform Polymarket, allowing arbitrageurs to profit from it by over $40 million in a single year. The paper, titled "Unraveling the Probability Forest: Arbitrage Opportunities in Prediction Markets," analyzed data from April 2024 to April 2025 and found pricing errors in over 7,000 markets. The research identified two primary arbitrage patterns: one where the sum of "yes/no" share prices in the same market deviates from the theoretical value of $1; and the other where probability divergences occur in logically related markets (such as "Trump wins" and "Republicans win"). By simultaneously buying and selling related contracts, traders can achieve risk-free returns. While arbitrage activity ultimately leads to market price inequality, research indicates that pricing misalignments can persist for hours. This phenomenon is not limited to Polymarket but also occurs on regulated platforms such as Kalshi.
