LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#ParkerShaffie—Parker Shaffie LLP, a decades-long proponent of ethical and professional responsibility in the practice of law, is now bringing that same advocacy to representing survivors of child abuse, sexual abuse, and sexual assault.

The new practice is co-led by Partner Shawn Shaffie and Senior Counsel Dave Zygielbaum, a former Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney. The expansion marks a strategic decision for the firm, applying its knowledge of legal standards and institutional liability to hold individuals, as well as public and private entities, accountable for systemic failures.

“For decades, our firm has been the authority on how the law should be practiced. Now, we are using that expertise to confront institutions that have failed their most basic ethical duty: protecting the vulnerable,” said Shaffie. “We aren’t just adding a practice area; we are bringing a trial-tested, ethically rigorous framework to this space because we believe that the pursuit of justice must be as honorable as the cause itself.”

Zygielbaum’s 17 years of experience with the District Attorney’s office includes time co-leading the Complex Child Abuse Section. As a current Trustee of the Torrance Unified School District Board of Education, he brings a career-long focus to institutional accountability and the protection of vulnerable populations.

Part of Shaffie’s practice focuses on exposing the gap between promised care and the reality of institutional misconduct within drug rehab and sober living facilities.

“Dave understands both the prosecutorial rigor required for high-stakes cases and the internal governance of public entities, allowing him to identify exactly where institutional reporting and supervision systems fail,” says David Parker, founding partner at Parker Shaffie. “This public-sector insight is complemented by Shawn’s extensive experience litigating malfeasance within the private addiction recovery industry. Together, they offer our clients a sophisticated, trial-tested path to justice that addresses both public and private sector failures.”

Parker Shaffie will look at each abuse plaintiff through the lens of its professional liability and legal ethics perspective, using three principles:

Vetted Accountability: Taking on cases where institutional “blind eyes” and systemic failures have caused profound harm, holding organizations to the highest standard of care.

A Sanctuary of Advocacy: Ensuring the litigation process does not become a secondary source of trauma and providing an environment where the survivor’s dignity remains the central priority.

Precise Pursuit of Justice: Providing clients with the attention to detail for which the firm is known—pursuing compensation for medical care, emotional distress, and lost earnings.

“Our mission is to help survivors reclaim their voice and their sense of control,” says Zygielbaum. “By combining the compassion and commitment to accountability shaped through years of dedicated public service with our firm’s deep foundations in legal ethics, we are setting a new standard for how these matters are handled.”

Frank Sinatra performs on his TV special Frank Sinatra: A Man and his Music Bettmann Archive These days on the Billboard charts, Frank Sinatra’s music can always be found on the jazz-specific rankings. While the art he created when he was still working was pop at the time, and later classified as traditional pop, there is no such list for the latter format in America, and so his throwback projects and cuts appear on jazz lists instead. It’s on those charts where Sinatra rebounds this week, and one of his popular projects returns not to one, but two tallies at the same time, helping him increase the total amount of real estate he owns at the moment. The World We Knew’s All-Time Highs The World We Knew returns close to its all-time peak on both of those rosters. Sinatra’s classic has peaked at No. 11 on the Traditional Jazz Albums chart, just missing out on becoming another top 10 for the crooner. The set climbed all the way to No. 15 on the Jazz Albums tally and has now spent just under two months on the rosters.
