MegaETH, an Ethereum Layer 2 network, has officially launched its public mainnet, marking its transition from an experimental environment to a fully operational blockchain ecosystem. The launch introduces a real-time blockchain architecture built to process transactions with response times measured in milliseconds. This development positions MegaETH as a performance-focused network intended to support complex decentralized applications under real-world conditions.

With the mainnet now live, MegaETH is opening its infrastructure to users and developers seeking faster execution and lower latency while remaining compatible with Ethereum-based systems. The move signals the beginning of its operational phase within an increasingly competitive Layer 2 and alternative Layer 1 landscape.

Rabbithole Becomes the Core User Gateway

Alongside the mainnet launch, MegaETH introduced Rabbithole, a centralized ecosystem frontend designed to act as the primary access point for users. Rabbithole functions as a unified portal through which participants can interact with live applications, bridge assets across chains, and manage ecosystem-related notifications.

The frontend incorporates a natural language discovery interface that replaces traditional static navigation menus with prompt-based exploration. Users can input direct questions related to their goals, such as finding yield opportunities or launching tokens, and receive tailored responses that guide them toward relevant tools and protocols. This design choice reflects an effort to make blockchain navigation more intuitive, especially for users unfamiliar with complex decentralized interfaces.

Rabbithole also integrates cross-chain bridges, token swapping functionality, and fiat-to-crypto access through debit cards and bank wire transfers. By consolidating these features into a single interface, MegaETH aims to reduce the fragmentation that continues to characterize much of the blockchain ecosystem.

Applications Organized Around User Needs

Within the Rabbithole interface, the first wave of applications has been organized based on user intent rather than technical classifications. Instead of categorizing platforms by protocol type, MegaETH groups applications into functional areas such as trading, yield and credit services, consumer-focused DeFi, gaming, and culture and social engagement.

This user-centric structure is intended to lower the learning curve for newcomers while improving discoverability for experienced participants. Applications are further labeled by development stage, including categories that indicate which platforms are currently live, which are expected to launch soon, and which are actively progressing toward deployment. This approach provides transparency into ecosystem growth and helps users understand what is available for immediate use.

Among the live and upcoming projects highlighted within the ecosystem are Hit One, World Markets, Offshore Protocol, Avon, and Kumbaya. The mainnet launch followed a seven-day stress test that evaluated network stability and performance before opening access to the public.

Real-Time Execution and Technical Foundations

Prior to the mainnet release, MegaETH described itself as a real-time blockchain, emphasizing its ability to address limitations commonly faced by Ethereum-compatible networks. The platform relies on a high-throughput execution engine, low-latency processing, and a specialized node architecture to achieve rapid transaction finality.

These technical choices are intended to support applications that require immediate responsiveness, including consumer-facing DeFi tools and interactive blockchain-based services. While the core network is now live, the team has indicated that application deployment will continue gradually, with new platforms rolling out over time rather than all at once.

Outlook for Adoption and Ecosystem Growth

The long-term impact of the MegaETH launch will depend on its ability to attract sustained developer interest and maintain performance as network usage scales. If the platform succeeds under real-world conditions, its combination of real-time execution and prompt-based discovery could influence how users interact with decentralized finance and consumer blockchain applications.

By emphasizing accessibility, speed, and intuitive design, MegaETH and its Rabbithole frontend represent a step toward reducing barriers to entry in decentralized technologies. The launch underscores an industry-wide shift toward making high-performance blockchain infrastructure more approachable, signaling a potential evolution in how Web3 platforms are built and experienced.

BitGo, a digital asset infrastructure company with more than $100 billion in assets under custody, has received an extension of its license from Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), enabling it to offer crypto services to European investors. The company said its local subsidiary, BitGo Europe, can now provide custody, staking, transfer, and trading services. Institutional clients will also have access to an over-the-counter (OTC) trading desk and multiple liquidity venues. The extension builds on BitGo’s previous Markets-in-Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license, also issued by BaFIN, and adds trading to the existing custody, transfer and staking services. BitGo acquired its initial MiCA license in May 2025, which allowed it to offer certain services to traditional institutions and crypto native companies in the European Union.Read more
