NEAR Protocol trades at $1.00 with oversold RSI at 26.71 signaling potential bounce. Technical analysis suggests $1.20 recovery possible if key resistance breaks.

NEAR Price Prediction: Eyes $1.20 Recovery After Oversold RSI Signals Potential Bounce

NEAR Price Prediction Summary

Short-term target (1 week): $1.07-$1.13
Medium-term forecast (1 month): $1.20-$1.35 range
Bullish breakout level: $1.26 (SMA 20) • Critical support: $0.95

What Crypto Analysts Are Saying About NEAR Protocol

While specific analyst predictions from the last 24 hours are limited, recent forecasts from established platforms provide insight into NEAR Protocol's trajectory. According to Blockchain.News analysis from January 5th, NEAR Protocol showed neutral RSI conditions at that time, with analysts forecasting medium-term targets of $2.10-$2.35, though they noted bearish MACD momentum requiring caution.

CoinCodex provided a more conservative NEAR price prediction on January 8th, projecting the token could reach $1.76 within five days, representing approximately 4.45% growth from their analysis point. However, current market conditions have shifted significantly since these predictions were made.

On-chain data suggests NEAR Protocol is experiencing heightened volatility with a daily ATR of $0.11, indicating substantial price movement potential in either direction.

NEAR Technical Analysis Breakdown

NEAR Protocol's current technical picture presents a mixed but increasingly oversold scenario. Trading at $1.00 with a 24-hour decline of 3.29%, the token has established a trading range between $1.05 and $0.98.

The RSI reading of 26.71 places NEAR Protocol deep in oversold territory, historically a level where bounce opportunities emerge. This oversold condition suggests selling pressure may be exhausted, potentially setting up a relief rally.

NEAR's MACD analysis reveals bearish momentum with a reading of -0.1525, though the histogram at 0.0000 indicates the bearish momentum may be stabilizing. The Stochastic indicators (%K at 24.09, %D at 19.27) confirm the oversold condition across multiple timeframes.

Bollinger Bands analysis shows NEAR trading near the lower band at $0.88, with the current price representing a %B position of 0.1574. This positioning near the lower band often precedes mean reversion moves toward the middle band at $1.26.

Moving averages present resistance challenges, with NEAR trading below all key levels: SMA 7 ($1.05), SMA 20 ($1.26), SMA 50 ($1.49), and SMA 200 ($2.16).

NEAR Protocol Price Targets: Bull vs Bear Case

Bullish Scenario

The primary NEAR price prediction for a bullish recovery targets the $1.07 immediate resistance level first. A break above this level could trigger momentum toward the SMA 7 at $1.05, followed by the critical SMA 20 at $1.26.

If NEAR Protocol can reclaim the $1.26 middle Bollinger Band, the next logical target becomes the $1.35-$1.40 zone, representing a 35-40% upside from current levels. The ultimate bullish target would be a test of the SMA 50 at $1.49.

Technical confirmation for this bullish NEAR Protocol forecast would require RSI recovery above 40, MACD histogram turning positive, and sustained volume above the recent 24-hour average of $13.78 million.

Bearish Scenario

Should the current support at $0.97 fail, NEAR Protocol faces immediate downside risk to the strong support level at $0.95. A break below this critical level could trigger further selling toward the lower Bollinger Band at $0.88.

In an extended bearish scenario, NEAR price prediction models suggest potential downside to the $0.80-$0.85 zone, representing psychological round number support levels.

Risk factors include broader crypto market weakness, continued bearish MACD momentum, and potential breaking of key support levels without oversold bounce recovery.

Should You Buy NEAR? Entry Strategy

Current oversold conditions present a potential buying opportunity for NEAR Protocol, though risk management remains crucial. The optimal entry strategy involves scaling into positions rather than aggressive single entries.

Primary entry consideration lies in the $0.98-$1.02 range, with the current $1.00 level representing fair value given oversold RSI conditions. A more conservative approach would wait for RSI recovery above 30 and initial resistance break above $1.04.

Stop-loss positioning should consider the $0.95 strong support level, representing approximately 5% downside risk from current levels. This provides a reasonable risk-reward ratio targeting the $1.20-$1.26 resistance zone.

Position sizing should remain conservative given NEAR's high volatility (ATR of $0.11) and broader market uncertainty. Dollar-cost averaging over several days may prove more effective than single large positions.

Conclusion

This NEAR price prediction suggests cautious optimism based on oversold technical conditions. While the token faces significant resistance levels above, the current RSI reading of 26.71 historically precedes bounce opportunities.

The most probable near-term scenario targets recovery toward $1.07-$1.13, with extended upside potential to $1.20-$1.26 if broader crypto markets stabilize. However, failure to hold the $0.95 support could trigger further downside.

Confidence Level: Medium (60%) for short-term bounce to $1.07-$1.13 range.

USDH Power Struggle Ignites Stablecoin “Bidding Wars” Across DeFi: Bloomberg

USDH Power Struggle Ignites Stablecoin “Bidding Wars” Across DeFi: Bloomberg

A heated contest for control over a new dollar-pegged token has set the stage for what analysts say could define the next phase of the stablecoin industry. According to Bloomberg, a bidding war unfolded on Hyperliquid, one of crypto’s fastest-growing trading platforms, with the prize being the right to issue USDH, its native stablecoin. The competition drew some of the sector’s most prominent names, including Paxos, Sky, and Ethena, who later withdrew their bid, alongside the lesser-known Native Markets, a startup backed by Stripe stablecoin subsidiary Bridge. Hyperliquid Stablecoin Race Shows Branding and Partnerships Matter as Much as Tech Over the weekend, Hyperliquid’s validators, the contributors who secure the network and vote on key decisions, awarded the USDH contract to Native Markets over the weekend. Despite its relatively new status, the firm’s connection with Stripe helped it outpace more established rivals. Stablecoins underpin decentralized finance by providing a dollar-backed medium for collateral, settlement, and payments across applications. What began as a grassroots, community-led sector has evolved into a battleground for institutions and payment companies seeking revenue from interest on reserves. Circle, for example, shares proceeds from its USDC with Coinbase under a partnership designed to stabilize earnings during market swings. The Hyperliquid contest offered a rare glimpse into just how intense competition has become. Paxos pledged to take no revenue until USDH surpassed $1 billion in circulation. Agora offered to share 100% of net revenue with Hyperliquid, while Ethena put forward 95%. All were outbid by Native Markets, whose ties to Stripe’s $1.1 billion acquisition of Bridge and subsequent rollout of the Tempo blockchain positioned it as a strong contender. “Every stablecoin issuer is extremely desperate for supply,” said Zaheer Ebtikar, co-founder of Split Capital. “They are willing to publicly announce how much they are willing to offer. It just shows it’s a very tough business for stablecoin issuers.” While USDC remains dominant on Hyperliquid with more than $5.6 billion in deposits, the arrival of USDH could shift flows and revenue dynamics. Paxos co-founder Bhau Kotecha said the firm sees the exchange’s growth as an important opportunity, while Agora’s co-founder Nick van Eck warned that awarding the contract to a vertically integrated issuer risked undermining decentralization. Regulatory positioning also factored into the debate. Paxos operates under a New York trust charter and is seeking a federal license, while Bridge holds money transmitter approvals in 30 states. Native Markets, in a blog post, cited regulatory flexibility and deployment speed as reasons for its selection. Hyperliquid said the strong engagement from its community validated the process. Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire dismissed concerns over USDC’s status, noting on X that competition benefits the ecosystem. Analysts suggested that fears of centralization may be exaggerated, noting that Hyperliquid is likely to remain neutral and support multiple stablecoins. Still, the contest over USDH highlighted a new reality for stablecoins: branding, partnerships, and business strategy are becoming as decisive as technology. Native Markets Secures USDH Stablecoin Mandate on Hyperliquid Hyperliquid has concluded its governance vote for the USDH stablecoin, awarding the mandate to Native Markets after a closely watched process that drew weeks of community debate and rival proposals. USDH, described by Hyperliquid as a “Hyperliquid-first, compliant, and natively minted” dollar-backed token, is intended to reduce the platform’s dependence on USDC and strengthen its spot markets. Validators on the decentralized exchange voted in favor of Native Markets, a relatively new player backed by Stripe’s Bridge subsidiary, over established contenders including Paxos and Ethena. The outcome followed a string of proposals offering aggressive revenue-sharing terms to win validator support, underscoring the scale of incentives attached to controlling USDH. Hyperliquid’s exchange has become a critical hub for stablecoin liquidity, with $5.7 billion in USDC, around 8% of its total supply, currently held on the network. At prevailing treasury yields, that translates to an estimated $200 million to $220 million in annual revenue for Circle, underlining why a native alternative could be transformative. Hyperliquid’s validators, who secure the network and vote on key decisions, selected Native Markets following an on-chain governance process that concluded September 15. Native Markets has laid out a phased rollout for USDH, beginning with capped minting and redemption trials before expanding into spot markets. Its reserves will be managed in cash and treasuries by BlackRock, with on-chain tokenization through Superstate and Bridge. Yield from those reserves will be split between Hyperliquid’s Assistance Fund and ecosystem development. The launch of USDH comes as Hyperliquid records record profits from perpetual futures trading, with $106 million in revenue in August alone, and prepares to slash spot trading fees by 80% to bolster liquidity. Analysts say the move positions Hyperliquid to capture more of the stablecoin economics internally, marking a significant step in its bid to rival the largest players in decentralized finance
