TMZ founder Harvey Levin said a third email to his outlet contains a striking warning that investigators may need to look beyond the United States to find Nancy Guthrie.

Levin said the email’s author – a man claiming to know the identity and location of the kidnapper – wrote that authorities should “be prepared to go international.”

“That to me is really significant,” Levin told CNN’s Erin Burnett on Friday. “He says, 'Be prepared to go international.' To me, he has to be talking about Mexico…Tucson is very close to the border.”

Levin noted that the email also refers to identifying “the main individual,” language that suggests more than one person was involved.

“I found that really interesting," Levin said. “Because he’s suggesting there’s more than one person, but this is the main individual.” Levin went on to emphasize that federal authorities are taking the emails seriously.

“I know authorities are interested in this,” he said. “They’re really interested in the ransom letter, but they are definitely interested in these three letters."

The TMZ founder suggested that the abduction of the 84-year-old mother of “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie on Feb. 1 was either “a robbery gone bad or a targeted kidnapping.”

But he concluded, “It’s just weird to me that this is just a robbery.”
