Association is Reducing Auto Premiums, Offering No-Interest Government Shutdown Loans, and Returning a Historic $3.8 Billion to Members

SAN ANTONIO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–At a time when family budgets are under pressure, USAA is taking proactive steps to lower rates for millions of members, put money back in their pockets through a range of financial rewards, and make significant investments to strengthen military families.

This year, we expect about half of USAA auto members will see reductions in their six-month premiums, ranging from small adjustments to a few hundred dollars in savings, depending on state and individual circumstances. Together with a range of other discounts and benefits, members can expect greater value that saves money and strengthens their financial resiliency.

“We know American families have been stretched by higher costs over the past few years,” said USAA President and CEO Juan C. Andrade. “When market conditions improve, our focus is simple: pass those improvements back to members and help them keep more of what they earn. In 2026, members will see stabilization in premiums — and for many, meaningful reductions. And we continue to provide relief when it matters most.”

USAA stands ready to support eligible members impacted by government shutdowns, helping them maintain financial stability through a period of uncertainty. Last year, impacted members benefited from nearly $450 million in no interest loans, payment extensions and fee waivers from USAA during the government shutdown. Additionally, the Association returned approximately $3.8 billion in financial rewards to members — the largest in its 103-year history.

Building on a Tradition of Service

As part of its longstanding commitment to strengthening members’ financial security, USAA continues to enhance programs and options that reduce costs and deliver real value:

Providing Real Savings

  • About half of USAA policyholders are expected to see reductions in their six-month auto premiums this year, depending on state and individual circumstances.
  • The USAA SafePilot® participation discount has increased to 15% in many states and is expected to be increased in additional states throughout the year. SafePilot® reduces auto premiums by an average of $200 for a six-month policy at renewal while encouraging safer driving. Members can opt in to the program at any time.
  • Connected Home and other prevention programs help members avoid costly damage from issues like water leaks while unlocking additional home insurance discounts.

Empowering Members with Options

  • Enhanced Cashback Rewards Plus: Following improvements, this credit card is projected to deliver an additional $2 million in annual rewards, strengthening affordability for everyday purchases.
  • Penalty Free Courtesy Credits: USAA provides nearly $8 million in courtesy credits on accounts for late fees and returned payments on USAA accounts — supporting members who may be experiencing financial distress or inadvertently miss a due date.
  • No Cost Deposit Accounts & ATM Access: USAA offers deposit accounts with no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements, along with access to more than 100,000 fee-free ATMs. When a non-network ATM charges a fee, USAA refunds up to $10 per monthly statement cycle.

USAA is also collaborating with suppliers, industry partners, and policymakers to address root causes driving higher insurance costs — from legal system abuse and rising repair expenses to catastrophe volatility — while streamlining internal operations to better serve members.

Last year, the Association launched Honor Through Action, a five-year, $500 million initiative designed to help the military community thrive personally, professionally and financially.

“Our responsibility is to do our part to stand with members in every environment,” Andrade said. “By managing expenses carefully and investing in tools that lower prices over time, we can help members today while protecting their financial wellbeing for years to come.”

In addition to these efforts, the company provides budgeting, financial and debt management advice through the USAA Advice Center.

3 Paradoxes of Altcoin Season in September

The post 3 Paradoxes of Altcoin Season in September appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Analyses and data indicate that the crypto market is experiencing its most active altcoin season since early 2025, with many altcoins outperforming Bitcoin. However, behind this excitement lies a paradox. Most retail investors remain uneasy as their portfolios show little to no profit. This article outlines the main reasons behind this situation. Altcoin Market Cap Rises but Dominance Shrinks Sponsored TradingView data shows that the TOTAL3 market cap (excluding BTC and ETH) reached a new high of over $1.1 trillion in September. Yet the share of OTHERS (excluding the top 10) has declined since 2022, now standing at just 8%. OTHERS Dominance And TOTAL3 Capitalization. Source: TradingView. In past cycles, such as 2017 and 2021, TOTAL3 and OTHERS.D rose together. That trend reflected capital flowing not only into large-cap altcoins but also into mid-cap and low-cap ones. The current divergence shows that capital is concentrated in stablecoins and a handful of top-10 altcoins such as SOL, XRP, BNB, DOG, HYPE, and LINK. Smaller altcoins receive far less liquidity, making it hard for their prices to return to levels where investors previously bought. This creates a situation where only a few win while most face losses. Retail investors also tend to diversify across many coins instead of adding size to top altcoins. That explains why many portfolios remain stagnant despite a broader market rally. Sponsored “Position sizing is everything. Many people hold 25–30 tokens at once. A 100x on a token that makes up only 1% of your portfolio won’t meaningfully change your life. It’s better to make a few high-conviction bets than to overdiversify,” analyst The DeFi Investor said. Altcoin Index Surges but Investor Sentiment Remains Cautious The Altcoin Season Index from Blockchain Center now stands at 80 points. This indicates that over 80% of the top 50 altcoins outperformed…
