A local prosecutor lobbed a subtle threat at President Donald Trump's immigration forces during a podcast interview on Wednesday.

Mary Moriarty, the Hennepin County, Minnesota, prosecutor, discussed the latest development on the investigation into the killing of Alex Pretti and Renee Good during the Trump administration's "Operation Metro Surge" on a new episode of "All Rise News" with Adam Klasfeld. Last week, the FBI sent a formal letter to local authorities notifying them that they will not be sharing evidence collected during the investigation, a move Moriarty said "wasn't a surprise."

During the discussion, Moriarty lobbed a subtle threat at the agents who believe they will escape accountability for their actions during the raid. She addressed the prospect of the case being removed to federal court.

"If it got removed to federal court, it would be a statewide jury, and we would try the case under state law," Moriarty said.

"And because it's under state law, it is not subject to the presidential pardon power. Correct?" Klasfeld asked.

"Exactly," Moriarty replied.

Moriarty's comments came as the Trump administration's immigration policies faced growing scrutiny. The raid in Minneapolis and the deaths of two U.S. citizens increased calls for DHS Secretary Kristi Noem to either resign or be fired.
