Anthropic claims that DeepSeek and other AI labs have extensively "distilled" the capabilities of its models.
PANews reported on February 24 that, according to an announcement by Anthropic, they discovered that DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, and MiniMax have been using industrial-scale "distillation attacks" to extract Claude's model capabilities on a large scale. These labs are accused of using over 24,000 fake accounts to interact with Claude more than 16 million times to train and optimize their own models.
