Ethereum Foundation Unveils “Strawmap” Roadmap for Faster Finality and 10K TPS

The Ethereum Foundation has released a new high-level roadmap dubbed the “Strawmap,” outlining its long-term vision for scaling and upgrading Ethereum.

The plan focuses on faster Layer 1 finality, major throughput improvements, deeper Layer 2 integration, post-quantum security, and enhanced privacy at the base layer.

Faster Finality on Layer 1

One of the core goals is reducing Ethereum’s finality time to just seconds. The roadmap highlights:

  • 1-slot finality targets
  • Endgame slot improvements
  • Faster confirmation times

The objective is to make Ethereum more responsive for users and applications while maintaining decentralization and security.

10,000 TPS Through zkEVM Scaling

A major part of the scaling strategy revolves around zero-knowledge technology.

The roadmap outlines scaling toward 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) through zkEVM-based solutions and stronger integration between Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks. Improvements to blob data handling, sampling, and calldata efficiency are also included.

This suggests Ethereum’s long-term direction continues to lean heavily on rollups and modular scaling.

Post-Quantum Security

The Strawmap includes forward-looking cryptography upgrades designed to protect Ethereum against potential quantum computing threats.

Planned upgrades include:

  • Post-quantum attestations
  • Hash-based L1 cryptography
  • Quantum-resistant transaction schemes

While quantum risk is not immediate, the Foundation is signaling preparation for long-term network resilience.

Native L1 Privacy

Another notable inclusion is native privacy enhancements directly on Layer 1.

The roadmap references private L1 shielded transfers and improved cryptographic primitives, suggesting Ethereum could integrate privacy features more deeply at the protocol level rather than relying entirely on external tools.

Layered Evolution Strategy

The roadmap organizes upgrades across three main components:

  • Consensus Layer (CL) improvements for finality and validator efficiency
  • Data Layer (DL) optimizations for throughput and blob scaling
  • Execution Layer (EL) upgrades including zkVM, account abstraction, and sustainability enhancements

A Vision, Not a Finalized Timeline

The Foundation notes that the Strawmap is a working consensus roadmap rather than a rigid delivery schedule. It represents strategic direction more than fixed deadlines.

Overall, the release signals Ethereum’s continued focus on scalability, cryptographic resilience, and long-term competitiveness as Layer 2 ecosystems expand and blockchain throughput expectations rise.

First Multi-Asset Crypto ETP Opens Door to Institutional Adoption

The post First Multi-Asset Crypto ETP Opens Door to Institutional Adoption appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially approved the Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund (GDLC) for trading on the stock exchange. The decision comes as the SEC also relaxes ETF listing standards. This approval provides easier access for traditional investors and signals a major regulatory shift, paving the way for institutional capital to flow into the crypto market. The fund’s primary goal is to expose investors to the most significant digital assets in the market without requiring them to buy, store, or secure the coins directly. In July, the SEC delayed its decision to convert GDLC from an OTC fund into an exchange-listed ETP on NYSE Arca, citing further review. However, the latest developments raise investors’ hopes that a multi-asset crypto ETP from Grayscale will soon become a reality. Approval under the Generic Listing Standards will help “streamline the process,” opening the door for more crypto ETPs. Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and ADA investors are the most…
