BitMine Buys 60,976 ETH Last Week Raising Total Holdings to 4.53 Million ETH

BitMine Immersion Technologies reported a recent increase in its Ethereum holdings after buying 60,976 ETH in the past week. The firm now holds 4,534,563 Ether, making it one of the largest corporate holders of Ethereum globally. The company said this move comes as it continues its long‑term plan to expand its digital asset treasury.

BitMine Buys 60,976 ETH During Market Dip

BitMine confirmed that it purchased 60,976 ETH during the past week. The purchase was valued at about $119.8 million. The buy happened while prices moved lower in the market.

The purchase increased BitMine’s Ethereum holdings to 4,534,563 ETH with an average acquisition cost of about $3,797 per ETH. The update came through its public holdings statement.

The total Ethereum balance represents about 3.76 percent of all ETH in existence. The company also reported that 3.04 million ETH are currently staked with assets generating an estimated $172 million in yearly rewards. 

The Company’s holdings update also showed that Ethereum remains its largest digital asset position. The firm continues to accumulate ETH as part of its long-term treasury strategy.

Portfolio Details Show Crypto and Other Investments

BitMine also released details of its broader portfolio company’s total holdings, now reaching about $10.3 billion. The figure includes crypto assets, cash reserves, and other investments. The largest portion of the portfolio remains Ethereum, while the company also holds 195 Bitcoin as part of its crypto portfolio.

The firm reported several equity investments, and Bitmine holds a $200 million stake in Beast Industries, a company linked to creator MrBeast. It also holds a $14 million stake in Eightco Holdings. Cash reserves remain part of the portfolio structure as BitMine reported about $1.2 billion in total cash. The company described some equity positions as ”moonshots” within the portfolio.

Support from several investment firms was also mentioned in the update. The company’s investors include ARK, Founders Fund, Pantera, and Galaxy Digital. The latest report confirmed that Ethereum remains the core asset in BitMine’s strategy. The recent purchase increased the company’s share of the total ETH supply while maintaining large staked holdings.

Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO.
