Bitcoin and altcoins are trying to recover in the shadow of the US-Iran conflict. While Bitcoin is struggling to hold above $70,000, cryptocurrency analytics company Santiment recently revealed the most popular altcoins in the cryptocurrency world.

According to Santiment, investors are showing strong interest in altcoins such as Bitcoin (BTC), Zcash (ZEC), Tether (USDT), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Tron (TRX).

Bitcoin led the trending cryptocurrencies in the last 24 hours, surprisingly followed by ZEC, USDT, ETH, DOGE, and TRX.

The most popular cryptocurrencies in the crypto sector and the reasons why are listed below:

Bitcoin: It’s making headlines with the mining of the 20 millionth BTC and the continued increase in institutional investment.

Zcash: ZEC is making headlines due to a seed funding round exceeding $25 million announced by the Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL), backed by major crypto investors, and related product development (the Zodl wallet). Simultaneously, the relaunch or listing of ZEC spot deposits/withdrawals and trading on various trading platforms has also contributed.

USDT: Tether’s stablecoins and asset-backed tokens, particularly XAUT (Tether’s gold token) and Paxos’ PAXG, are trending due to increasing controversy surrounding them.

Ethereum: Discussions about Ethereum’s role and security are ongoing due to developments in protocol governance and staking. Large on-chain and institutional flows like Bitmine are also attracting attention.

Dogecoin: It’s making headlines due to Elon Musk’s announcement that XMoney will begin early public access next month. The launch of XMoney has fueled widespread speculation about possible Dogecoin integration.

Tron is making headlines due to joining the Agentic AI Foundation Board of Directors as a Gold Member.
