Trump admits he voted for a Democrat in 2024

President Donald Trump admitted he voted for a Democrat in the most recent Palm Beach, Florida, municipal elections, according to a new report.

Speaking to a crowd of supporters at Trump National Doral Miami, Trump said he voted for Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, a Democrat, because "he’s kept Palm Beach safe for a lot of years," MeidasTouch reported. Those comments stand in stark contrast to Trump's public comments about Democrats, whom he has described as "scum," "vermin," and "animals."

"And even though he’s a Democrat, we love him so much ... And I voted for him … I voted ... but he’s kept Palm Beach safe for a lot of years. He's got a lot of years left in my opinion," Trump said during the event.

Trump's admission also seems to contradict the posture he and his MAGA faithful have presented heading into this year's midterm elections.

Trump has called on Republicans in Congress to pass the controversial SAVE Act, which would significantly change how elections are conducted across the U.S. Trump has also predicted that Republicans would win every election for the next 50 years if the legislation passes.

So far, Senate Republicans have resisted passing the bill. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) has previously said he does not have the votes to pass the bill. However, Sen. Jon Cornyn (R-TX) appears to be open to changing his mind in exchange for a Trump endorsement in his re-election bid, NBC News reported.
