Critics ridicule Trump for slip at Kentucky campaign stop

President Trump was mocked by critics on Wednesday after claiming at a Kentucky campaign event that terminating the Iran Nuclear Deal prevented Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and made the world safer.

Trump stated the deal "gave them the right to have a nuclear weapon as of three years ago," and credited his swift termination with averting catastrophe. Political analysts and social media users quickly challenged the assertion.

Former Obama White House advisor Dan Pfeiffer responded with skepticism on X. Progressive commentators countered that Trump's Iran policies led to war, with eight U.S. service members killed, civilian casualties including bombing strikes on schools, and economic turmoil.

Democratic strategist Leslie Marshall and Canadian Liberal Kyle Harrietha sarcastically agreed the world would be safer without ongoing conflict and elevated gas prices, implying Trump's actions produced the opposite result.
