Strategy (MSTR) stock price is up 4% during March 16 trading session, as company CEO Michael Saylor doubles down on his Bitcoin purchases. The firm purchased an additional 22,337 BTC today, moving closer to achieving 1 million holdings by the year-end. Furthermore, the company’s STRC Preferred shares are gaining significant attention due to a massive 11.5% yield.

MSTR Stock Pumps on Strategy’s New Bitcoin Purchases

Michael Saylor continues aggressive Bitcoin purchases for his firm, Strategy, despite the strong BTC price correction. On March 16, Strategy purchased an additional 22,337 Bitcoin for approximately $1.57 billion, at an average price of $70,194 per BTC.

Following the latest acquisition, the company’s total Bitcoin holdings have increased to 761,068 BTC as of March 15, 2026. Strategy stated that its cumulative Bitcoin purchases now total $57.61 billion. Moreover, the company’s average acquisition cost currently stands at $75,696 per Bitcoin.

It seems that amid the Bitcoin price correction, Michael Saylor is scooping up most of the supply in the market. This will help him in lovering the average BTC purchase price. Strategy would need to significantly accelerate its Bitcoin accumulation pace to reach 1 million BTC by the end of 2026.

Based on current projections, the company would need to purchase an average of about 6,158 BTC per week over the remaining approximately 42 weeks of the year to achieve the milestone.

At an assumed average price of $75,000 per Bitcoin, Strategy would still need to acquire 261,269 BTC. Thus, it would still required an additional $20 billion for its next purchases.

MSTR Stock Becomes Attractive Over Other Crypto Firms

MicroStrategy’s aggressive Bitcoin accumulation continues amid increased institutional investor exposure, despite dilution concerns. After hitting a low of $107 in Feb, the MSTR stock price has bounced 40% to $145 as of press time. Despite this, the share price is still down by 50% over the past year.

However, Strategy’s continuous Bitcoin purchases make it an attractive bet for users. According to 10x Research, Strategy’s aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy remains intact. The analysts said that institutional investors continue to increase their exposure to the stock despite ongoing concerns about shareholder dilution.

STRC Stock Dominates Market Action

Strategy has emerged as one of the largest holders of Bitcoin globally, alongside major entities such as Satoshi Nakamoto, BlackRock, and Coinbase. According to market observers, Strategy’s preferred share program, STRC, has accelerated the company’s Bitcoin accumulation.

The firm is currently acquiring an estimated 1,940 BTC per day. These purchases have occasionally surged to roughly 5,700 BTC on peak acquisition days. If the current pace of accumulation persists, analysts like Lark Davis noted that Strategy could potentially surpass the estimated Bitcoin holdings attributed to Satoshi Nakamoto by March 2027.

The Series A preferred stock STRC pays a variable cash dividend every month. The current annual rate (as of March 2026) is 11.50% on the $100 stated amount. Moreover, dividend rate is adjusted every month specifically to keep the share price trading tightly around $100. This “stretch” mechanism helps curb most volatility.
