A Historic Moment: The S&P 500 Index Will Now Trade 24/7 Thanks to Cryptocurrencies

The S&P 500, one of the most important benchmark indices in global finance, will now be available for trading 24/7 on the blockchain. S&P Dow Jones Indices and Trade XYZ have announced the launch of the first official S&P 500 perpetual (futures) contract on the Hyperliquid platform through a collaboration.

According to the announcement, the new product will be exclusively available on Hyperliquid and, unlike traditional markets, will offer trading 24/7. This development aims to make investors’ access to the S&P 500 independent of restrictions such as market hours, brokerage firms, and geographical limitations.

Trade XYZ stated that the S&P 500 index, a key indicator of global finance for 69 years, has been limited to specific trading hours and traditional infrastructure until now, but with this new product, the index is being moved to a continuous and global market structure.

The new perpetual contract is said to be based on official S&P 500 index data, aiming to provide deep liquidity and institutional investor confidence. This feature makes the product more attractive not only to users familiar with cryptocurrencies but also to traditional financial players.
