IAEA Director General: US and Iran may hold talks in Pakistan

PANews reported on March 25 that, according to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Grossi stated that the United States and Iran may hold talks in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, this weekend. In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Grossi said the talks would cover not only nuclear energy but also missiles and Iran's security guarantees. Grossi pointed out that the United States demands Iran achieve "zero uranium enrichment," while Iran is concerned about its civilian nuclear program and nuclear autonomy. In his view, the two sides can reach a consensus on these issues. He also said that Iran's nuclear facilities were damaged in the US-Israeli military strikes, "but not decisively." Regarding feasible solutions to the current conflict, Grossi said that peace must be achieved first, "military action is not the solution."
