President Donald Trump's war in Iran is quickly turning his second administration into his first in one key respect: the leaks.

Zeteo reported on Thursday that there is so much turmoil in Trump world that people are venting to the press on the record.

"The war has turbo-charged the amount of leaking and backbiting that senior Trump officials are conducting against one another. So many of them are truly freaked out. No one wants to be left holding the bag. But so few of them are willing to go after Mad King Donald and will keep waging his wars for him," the report said.

"Everything has gone to s——," Zeto quoted, "a once-buoyant Trump appointee," saying.

Among those catching the forehead-slapping reactions of Team Trump is Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, who current and former U.S. officials say is being referred to as "Dumb McNamara."

Bob McNamara was the former DOD secretary who exacerbated the Vietnam War. His "disastrous record" led to an escalation in the country, and he ultimately discovered that the war was unwinnable. He's now used as a kind of whipping boy for the failed the war.

While McNamara remained respected "as a brilliant, shrewd thinker," Zeteo characterized, "it is exceedingly hard to find anyone in the corridors of Washington power – or anywhere on the planet – who would label Hegseth a brilliant mind."

"Dumb McNamara" is spreading amid Hegseth's cheerleading of the war and soundbites like "we negotiate with bombs."

He added, "You have a choice, as we loiter over the top of Tehran."

His "overzealous bloodlust and enthusiasm for military fiasco ... reminds American officials of, well, a very stupid version of Robert McNamara."

The report said that Trump appears to want to shift blame to Hegseth as the disaster unfolds.

Trump said earlier this week, “Pete, I think you were the first one to speak up. You said, ‘Let’s do it.’”

The non-stop flattery of the president and the repeated claims of "winning," will certainly link Trump to the war, but Zeteo said that "it’s easy to see the president’s Iran bloodbath getting framed as 'Hegseth’s war,'" especially the longer it goes on.

Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC

The post Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson has weighed in on whether the Federal Reserve should make a 25 basis points (bps) Fed rate cut or 50 bps cut. This comes ahead of the Fed decision today at today’s FOMC meeting, with the market pricing in a 25 bps cut. Bitcoin and the broader crypto market are currently trading flat ahead of the rate cut decision. Franklin Templeton CEO Weighs In On Potential FOMC Decision In a CNBC interview, Jenny Johnson said that she expects the Fed to make a 25 bps cut today instead of a 50 bps cut. She acknowledged the jobs data, which suggested that the labor market is weakening. However, she noted that this data is backward-looking, indicating that it doesn’t show the current state of the economy. She alluded to the wage growth, which she remarked is an indication of a robust labor market. She added that retail sales are up and that consumers are still spending, despite inflation being sticky at 3%, which makes a case for why the FOMC should opt against a 50-basis-point Fed rate cut. In line with this, the Franklin Templeton CEO said that she would go with a 25 bps rate cut if she were Jerome Powell. She remarked that the Fed still has the October and December FOMC meetings to make further cuts if the incoming data warrants it. Johnson also asserted that the data show a robust economy. However, she noted that there can’t be an argument for no Fed rate cut since Powell already signaled at Jackson Hole that they were likely to lower interest rates at this meeting due to concerns over a weakening labor market. Notably, her comment comes as experts argue for both sides on why the Fed should make a 25 bps cut or…
