PANews reported on March 29th that, according to The Block, Gnosis co-founder Friederike Ernst and Zisk founder Jordi Baylina announced a new "easy" plan at the EthCC conference in Cannes: the Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ). This plan, co-funded by the Ethereum Foundation, aims to create a framework that allows Rollups to be synchronized with the Ethereum mainnet in a single transaction and interact with each other.
EEZ is designed to allow smart contracts on connected rollups to call contracts on the mainnet or other EEZ rollups, providing the same guarantees as those deployed on Ethereum itself. The framework uses ETH as the default gas token, requiring no additional bridging infrastructure.
