Bryson Tiller’s new studio effort Solace & the Vices arrives on the Billboard charts this week. The singer-songwriter took an unusual path when it came to dropping the double album, sharing one half of it several months back and the other in early October.

While Tiller remains a powerhouse talent with a large fan base, Solace & the Vices disappoints as it arrives and brings him to a new career low on the most important albums chart in the United States.

Where Did Solace & the Vices Debut on the Charts?

Solace & the Vices launches this week on the Billboard 200, the ranking of the most consumed full-lengths and EPs throughout the nation. The set starts at No. 52, and it immediately – and easily – marks a new low point on the tally for the Grammy nominee for the singer.

How Many Copies Did Bryson Tiller’s Album Sell In Its First Week?

Luminate reports that in its first full tracking frame, the complete double album moved 14,800 equivalent units. Streaming was responsible for almost that entire activity, as the lengthy set didn’t manage to sell 250 copies across all available formats.

Bryson Tiller’s Unusual Release Plan

Tiller released The Vices, the first installment of the double project, in early August. The set did not appear on the Billboard charts at the time, and it wasn’t until it became Solace & the Vices that it finally reached a number of tallies. The split release may have diluted this era’s momentum, and the lack of a huge hit single may also have hindered its success.

Bryson Tiller’s Self-Titled Album: Where Did It Peak?

Solace & the Vices is Tiller’s fifth full-length to appear on the Billboard 200. Before this frame, only one of his albums had missed the top 10, and just barely. His self-titled release, which dropped in 2024, peaked at No. 12, coming in just underneath the uppermost region.

Bryson Tiller’s Top 10 Albums on the Billboard Charts

Tiller first arrived on the Billboard 200 a decade ago with Trapsoul. The set, which climbed as high as No. 8 and turned the then-rising musician into a star, has gone on to live on the chart for hundreds of weeks and even climbs several spaces this time around. His sophomore effort True to Self brought him to No. 1 for the first time in 2017, and it remains his only champion. Anniversary, which Tiller shared in 2020, soared to No. 5.

Solace & the Vices Debuts Across Billboard Rankings

In addition to the Billboard 200, Solace & the Vices debuts on several other Billboard rankings. The project opens highest on the Top R&B Albums list, the only ranking where it begins its time inside the top 10, as it launches at No. 4. On the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, it starts off at No. 13. Tiller scores his second career entry on the Top Streaming Albums roster as Solace & the Vices opens at No. 40.

Bryson Tiller Scores His First Top Rap Albums Chart Hit

There is some good news connected to Solace & the Vices. This week, Tiller lands his first entry on the Top Rap Albums chart as the double album arrives. Much of his past work has been categorized as R&B, but this studio effort blends multiple genres and thus helps him reach the rap-specific ranking.

Bryson Tiller’s New Hit Songs

Several songs from Solace & the Vices launch on a handful of Billboard’s genre-specific track-focused tallies. “I Need Her,” the lead single of this era, debuts at No. 35 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Four tunes break onto the Hot R&B Songs tally, led by “I Need Her” at No. 7. “Strife,” “Autumn Drive,” and “No Contest” also kick off their runs at Nos. 22, 24, and 25, respectively.

“It Depends” With Chris Brown Becomes Bryson Tiller’s Latest Radio Hit

Despite the fact that he has a brand new double album out, Tiller’s biggest hit in the U.S. at the moment is a song he’s featured on. Chris Brown recruited Tiller for “It Depends,” which continues to perform well and rise on a number of radio rankings. This frame, the cut hits a new high on the Radio Songs chart, pushing to No. 15. Tiller also collects his second career ruler on the Rhythmic Airplay list as “It Depends” ascends from No. 3 to No. 1.
