Rome Odunze is starting to show why the Chicago Bears made him the No. 9 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The former consensus All-American receiver had a solid rookie campaign when he produced 54 catches for 734 yards and three touchdowns. However, he was a clear secondary receiver, ranking third across the board in receiving to D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen.

Fast forward a year later and he’s emerged as Caleb Williams’ clear go-to target. Odunze leads the Bears with 31 catches for 473 yards and five touchdowns.

“I feel like with route running, things like that, especially the scheme, I’m able to understand where I need to be, the spots I need to be,” says Odunze in a one-on-one interview. “Obviously, having that chemistry with Caleb as well through two seasons or a season and a half now has really been helpful. It’s really just continuing to grow with wide receiver play, feeling like understanding the job of a wide receiver in the league at this level and just trying to execute those things to perfection.”

Odunze specifically mentions how his chemistry with second-year quarterback Caleb Williams continues to grow, which is another reason why he’s playing so well. The top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft has taken a lot less sacks this season – 5.11% to 10.79% last year – and his passing yards per game has seen an uptick form 208.3 yards per game to 233.7 yards per game.

The star receiver specifically mentions how Williams has been on a “steady path of improvement” since entering the league. The statistics and the eye test match that claim, with Williams taking less sacks and proving to be a little more dynamic in the passing game in his second season.

“I would just say he’s continued to be on a steady path of improvement,” says Odunze of Williams. “Honestly, from the first day I met him, he’s continuing to strive to get better, and I think he has done that. He started the season off well and doing things the right way. He’s facilitating the ball out there, getting it to playmakers, as well as making plays himself. He’s doing a good job of being a leader for us in that sense, and I’m looking forward to continue to keep going.”

The Bears are off to a solid start this season as a result, going 4-3 through seven games under first-year head coach Ben Johnson. They only had five wins all of last season.

The offense has clearly improved under the leadership of Johnson, who made his name as the offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions. Chicago ranks 15th in points and 12th in yards after ranking 28th in points and dead last in yards last season.

Odunze outlines making it to the Pro Bowl and clinching a playoff berth as his objectives for the season this year.

It would be the Bears’ first playoff appearance since the 2020 season. Chicago has not won a playoff game since the 2010 season.

“I definitely would say so, for sure,” says Odunze of the experience helping in the midst of his second season. “Just having that season under my belt, I feel like gives me the knowledge and understanding of how you know things are trying to be played, how’s it going to go, and also my preparation during the week, helping those things for sure.”

Rome Odunze On Why He Wears Invisalign, How It Helps With Confidence Off The Field

As Odunze experiences a breakthrough season this year, the 23-year-old receiver is also experiencing gains off of the field. The second-year receiver is using Invisalign to help with his smile and confidence off of the field.

“I had my own personal journey with them, which was a huge success,” says Odunze. “I feel like the biggest thing for me was it brought a lot of confidence in my smile, which brings you confidence on and off the field. It’s definitely a big part of the journey. It’s been great, backed by 25 years of science, 20 million people they’ve helped thus far. Excited to partnership with them.”

Odunze says he’s been partnered with the teeth aligner brand since earlier this year, but he’s been using the aligners since his high school years.

“I wasn’t wearing my retainers as well as I should have in middle school,” says Odunze. “Then I started to get a gap in my teeth, and I had gone to the dentist, and that’s what they recommended. I feel like it was right in my alley because I didn’t have to have them on all the time. I was able to brush my teeth, kind of get all that gunk stuff out of it, which was dope. I wore Invisalign in high school, freshman, sophomore years. I’ve been wearing the retainers ever since.”

Shocking OpenVPP Partnership Claim Draws Urgent Scrutiny

The post Shocking OpenVPP Partnership Claim Draws Urgent Scrutiny appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The cryptocurrency world is buzzing with a recent controversy surrounding a bold OpenVPP partnership claim. This week, OpenVPP (OVPP) announced what it presented as a significant collaboration with the U.S. government in the innovative field of energy tokenization. However, this claim quickly drew the sharp eye of on-chain analyst ZachXBT, who highlighted a swift and official rebuttal that has sent ripples through the digital asset community. What Sparked the OpenVPP Partnership Claim Controversy? The core of the issue revolves around OpenVPP’s assertion of a U.S. government partnership. This kind of collaboration would typically be a monumental endorsement for any private cryptocurrency project, especially given the current regulatory climate. Such a partnership could signify a new era of mainstream adoption and legitimacy for energy tokenization initiatives. OpenVPP initially claimed cooperation with the U.S. government. This alleged partnership was said to be in the domain of energy tokenization. The announcement generated considerable interest and discussion online. ZachXBT, known for his diligent on-chain investigations, was quick to flag the development. He brought attention to the fact that U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Hester Peirce had directly addressed the OpenVPP partnership claim. Her response, delivered within hours, was unequivocal and starkly contradicted OpenVPP’s narrative. How Did Regulatory Authorities Respond to the OpenVPP Partnership Claim? Commissioner Hester Peirce’s statement was a crucial turning point in this unfolding story. She clearly stated that the SEC, as an agency, does not engage in partnerships with private cryptocurrency projects. This response effectively dismantled the credibility of OpenVPP’s initial announcement regarding their supposed government collaboration. Peirce’s swift clarification underscores a fundamental principle of regulatory bodies: maintaining impartiality and avoiding endorsements of private entities. Her statement serves as a vital reminder to the crypto community about the official stance of government agencies concerning private ventures. Moreover, ZachXBT’s analysis…

Bitcoin Has Taken Gold’s Role In Today’s World, Eric Trump Says

Bitcoin Has Taken Gold’s Role In Today’s World, Eric Trump Says

Eric Trump on Tuesday described Bitcoin as a “modern-day gold,” calling it a liquid store of value that can act as a hedge to real estate and other assets. Related Reading: XRP’s Biggest Rally Yet? Analyst Projects $20+ In October 2025 According to reports, the remark came during a TV appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box, tied to the launch of American Bitcoin, the mining and treasury firm he helped start. Company Holdings And Strategy Based on public filings and company summaries, American Bitcoin has accumulated 2,443 BTC on its balance sheet. That stash has been valued in the low hundreds of millions of dollars at recent spot prices. The firm mixes large-scale mining with the goal of holding Bitcoin as a strategic reserve, which it says will help it grow both production and asset holdings over time. Eric Trump’s comments were direct. He told viewers that institutions are treating Bitcoin more like a store of value than a fringe idea, and he warned firms that resist blockchain adoption. The tone was strong at times, and the line about Bitcoin being a modern equivalent of gold was used to frame American Bitcoin’s role as both miner and holder.   Eric Trump has said: bitcoin is modern-day gold — unusual_whales (@unusual_whales) September 16, 2025 How The Company Went Public American Bitcoin moved toward a public listing via an all-stock merger with Gryphon Digital Mining earlier this year, a deal that kept most of the original shareholders in control and positioned the new entity for a Nasdaq debut. Reports show that mining partner Hut 8 holds a large ownership stake, leaving the Trump family and other backers with a minority share. The listing brought fresh attention and capital to the firm as it began trading under the ticker ABTC. Market watchers say the firm’s public debut highlights two trends: mining companies are trying to grow by both producing and holding Bitcoin, and political ties are bringing more headlines to crypto firms. Some analysts point out that holding large amounts of Bitcoin on the balance sheet exposes a company to price swings, while supporters argue it aligns incentives between miners and investors. Related Reading: Ethereum Bulls Target $8,500 With Big Money Backing The Move – Details Reaction And Possible Risks Based on coverage of the launch, investors have reacted with both enthusiasm and caution. Supporters praise the prospect of a US-based miner that aims to be transparent and aggressive about building a reserve. Critics point to governance questions, possible conflicts tied to high-profile backers, and the usual risks of a volatile asset being held on corporate balance sheets. Eric Trump’s remark that Bitcoin has taken gold’s role in today’s world reflects both his belief in its value and American Bitcoin’s strategy of mining and holding. Whether that view sticks will depend on how investors and institutions respond in the months ahead. Featured image from Meta, chart from TradingView
